The base of this French apple tart is made of crisp, flaky puff pastry, and the apples on top are thinly sliced and glazed with apricot preserves to make them shine.
Ingredients: 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed. 3-4 large apples, thinly sliced. 1/4 cup apricot preserves. 2 tablespoons water. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Powdered sugar, for dusting optional.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 400F 200C. Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a small saucepan, heat the apricot preserves, water, and lemon juice over medium heat until melted and smooth. Set aside. Arrange the thinly sliced apples in overlapping rows on top of the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Brush the melted apricot mixture over the apples. Sprinkle the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the apples. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving. Slice and serve warm. Enjoy!
