anyone who follows me: if you are ever in portugal or a portuguese expat community (e.g. fall river, ma; i hear toronto and montreal also have them, but i’ve never been) and you have the opportunity, try:
kima or sumol maracuja (passion fruit soda)
pasteis (sg. pastel) de nata (small baked custard tarts—pastry should be flaky and top of custard should be burnt)
papo secos (god’s most perfect bread. if you wake up at 7 or so and go to the right bakery sometimes you can get them warm out of the oven. best thing ever.)
quiejo fresco (fresh cheese. like, fresher than mozzarella. the absolute bare minimum you can do to milk to make it cheese. this is my favorite cheese in existence. best served with massa de malagueta (hot red pepper paste) and honey)
pasteis (sg. pastel) de bacalhau (the only tolerable way to eat bacalhau, i.e. dried salted cod)
