This morning I was up early. I decided to do a workout without leaving the house. My back is still slightly sore so going for a walk in the cold, pouring rain wasn’t ideal.
So, I did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Half way through, I was thinking, “This is hard. I can’t give my 100%.” So, I told myself to do 50%. (I half-assed the crap out of it. 😂)
Anything is better than nothing.
After, I attempted an easy upper body workout with very light free weights. I haven’t used weights in months so I started with just a few exercises. I told myself I wasn’t going to make it complicated.
Bench Press
Bicep Curl
Tricep Kickback
Wall pushups
12 reps. 3 sets each. Using 8 pound free weights.
I tried using the ab roller for my core - but nope. Still irritates my neck. Instead, I did modified crunches in the chair.
Then I used the yoga ball. I don’t have names for the exercises I do with that but they help with upper body and core.
Of course, I also stretched a lot.
Altogether, it took about another 25 minutes.
Then I had a hot epsom salt bath. It helps reduce muscle soreness for me.
For lunch, I had my green protein-supplement-concoction smoothie and some avocado on a rice crake.
Drinking lots of water as well.
Not trying to lose weight. Just trying to prepare myself (mostly mentally) for starting chemo next week.
The kid will be here later today. She’ll be staying until Monday. Looking forward to spending Easter together. 🐣🐰
