hey, other neurodivergent conditions exist.
the reason im making this thread is because i hope to spread some awareness & acceptance of other neurodivergent conditions and diagnoses. i feel like a lot of people forget that autism and adhd arent the only conditions that exist, but rather, theres a plethora of other conditions too, which i will mention down below.
specific learning disability (dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, dysphasia, dysorthographia, non verbal learning disorder)

i actually encourage you to research these beyond the links i provided. they offer a base. but youre the only one who can do more research. you can also talk to people diagnosed with these conditions.
i want to say that as a professionally diagnosed autistic person alongside having dyscalculia professionally diagnosed that i feel like every single time i mention my conditions, people will forget i have the latter, only focusing on my autism and limiting me to my condition, which i loathe. im not a fucking alien and autism isnt the only part of me. im also dyscalculic, a kpop stan, an anthropology student, enjoy webtoons, writing, drawing, upcycling etc. im a whole human being who happens to have autism & dyscalculia & recently depression (hence im on antidepressants; been diagnosed by my psychologist and psychiatrist) & have dermatitis (went to the dermatologist for that).
me when someone thought i was self diagnosing with dyscalculia but i showed them numerous medical papers saying i have it 😂😂😂 dont fucking accuse me of self dx of something i was PROFESIONALLY diagnosed with. now, im aware the diagnosis criteria is biased most of the time and some people cannot afford to get a professional diagnosis, and that's okay, but dont immediately assume that if someone mentions they have a diagnosis that they self diagnosed because it's just... bleh. unless the said person claims so. best thing to do would be to ASK them "hey r u professioanlly dx or self dx?".
overall, im fucking sick of uninformed people limiting me to my autism AND the same people saying "oh you ONLY struggle with math" meanwhile dyscalculia affects ur everyday life too not just in the classroom. last time i checked, im the one with the lived experience not you so shut up & sit down.
tldr: if someone tells you theyre autistic and/or have adhd, dont limit yourself to those 2 conditions. and that also applies to writing ocs. whenever you write ocs dont make their conditions their entire being lol
& i better not see any comments like "you got angry in this thread bc of ur autism" or anything like that. i have all the rights to feel this way due to how im perceived. if you want to comment anything like that then i suggest you blocking me. or if we're friends and you pull that stunt then consider our friendship over.
