Είχες πιθανόν την πιο διακριτική παρουσία εκεί μέσα. Καθόσουν στην άκρη, με ένα τσιγάρο ανάμεσα στα χείλη. Δεν μιλούσες με κανέναν· αντί αυτού, το βλέμμα σου κοιτούσε το υπερπέραν, σαν να έψαχνες κάτι. Κάτι να σε κρατήσει σε έναν κόσμο που δεν είναι αρκετός για σένα. Οι συζητήσεις φαντάζουν ψεύτικες, και οι άνθρωποι επιφανειακοί. Δεν ήξερες καν γιατί ήσουν εκεί.

Έτσι μου είχες πει λίγο καιρό αφότου γνωριστήκαμε, καθώς καθόμασταν σε ένα παγκάκι εκείνο το Σαββατιάτικο πρωινό. Θυμάμαι εκεί κοντά βρισκόταν και ένας φούρνος. ‘Ηταν γωνιακός, ένας από αυτούς τους παλιούς. Περνούσες απ έξω και μπορούσες να μυρίσεις το φρέσκο ψωμί που έψηναν. Συχνά μπαίναμε μέσα και παίρναμε εκείνα τα κουλούρια που τόσο σου άρεσαν.

Κάποια στιγμή με ρώτησες αν ήθελα να πάμε σινεμά, θυμάσαι; Είχες πει για ένα ωραίο θερινό στου Ψυρρή. Πήγαμε, τελικά. Στο μέρος που είχε πρώτη θέση κάτω από τα άστρα, με το καλοκαιρινό αεράκι να φυσάει απαλά τα μαλλιά μου. Βλέπαμε κάποια πορτογαλική ταινία. Αν ρωτούσε κανείς, αυτό είναι το μόνο πράγμα που θυμάμαι από την προβολή. Δεν μπορούσα να πάρω το βλέμμα μου από τα μάτια σου. Αυτά τα μελί μάτια που δεν έχω σταματήσει να σκέφτομαι έκτοτε.

Το ξημέρωμα μας βρήκε χωριστά.

Θυμάμαι σου άρεσε να απαθανατίζεις τους δρόμους της Αθήνας σε φιλμ, να κρατάς τις στιγμές και τις αναμνήσεις φυλαγμένες σε κάτι που θα μπορούσε να μπει ακόμη και στην τσέπη σου. Εσύ της φωτογραφίας, εγώ της συγγραφής. Μου άρεσε – και ακόμη μου αρέσει – να γράφω, και να δημιουργώ εικόνες με λέξεις, ακόμη και κόσμους ολόκληρους. Να προκαλώ συναισθήματα, ή και να εκφράζω τα δικά μου.

Το δεύτερο, στην προκειμένη. Μόνο εγώ ξέρω πόσα σημειώματα έχω στο συρτάρι μου κρυμμένα, σημειώματα που περιέχουν γραπτά που δεν θα δουν ποτέ το φως του ήλιου.

Γραπτά που μιλούν για τις σκέψεις τις οποίες δεν κατάφερα να μοιραστώ ποτέ μαζί σου. Γιατί δεν είσαι εδώ. Ξυπνάς κάπου αλλού τώρα, και δεν σκέφτεσαι πλέον την άδεια πλατεία. Την πλατεία μας. Και φοβάμαι. Δεν σου το είπα ποτέ, αλλά έχω την τάση να κρατώ λίγο πιο σφιχτά ότι αγαπώ για να μην μου φύγει. Εσύ όμως…εσύ φτιάχτηκες για να έχεις την ελευθερία σου, να πετάς μακριά. Ίσως για αυτό και ο κόσμος μου να σε πληγώνει, ίσως για αυτό πονας κοντά μου.

Οι φίλοι μου λένε πως τα πράγματα που γίνονται με κάνουν πιο ώριμη, αλλά δεν θέλω. Όχι ακόμη. Είναι πολύ νωρίς για να σε αφήσω, πολύ άκαρδο το να σε ξεριζώσω από μέσα μου τόσο εύκολα. Εσύ πάλι μου ειχες πει πως όλα θα είναι εντάξει, όλα θα πήγαιναν καλά. Κάναμε την τελευταία μας βόλτα με το αυτοκίνητο τότε, μα δεν το ήξερα.

Αν και δεν θα έπρεπε να περιμένω κάτι παραπάνω, υποθέτω. Θυμάμαι έλεγες πως ήμασταν σαν ένα ζευγάρι διαφορετικές κάλτσες.

Παρόλα αυτά, μαζί με εσένα έχασα ένα κομμάτι του εαυτού μου. Υποσχέσου μου πως θα το προσέχεις. Θα προσέχω και εγώ το δικό σου.

I feel a warm presence that radiates from the people near me as their presences allows me to feel that they are all at ease. The morning birds sing in the morning as the sun seeps through my room which would cause most people to stir.

I roll over to my side and see Olive resting his head on my bed. His breathing pattern is even as he truly seems to have been able to relax. I reach out and pat their head. I normally don't get to see him like this as he never has time to relax. I guess that I never do either thinking back on it.

He seems to move slightly at my touch and then relaxes again as he slowly opens his eyes and looks over to me slowly not seeming quite alert.

“Morning.” He says as his gaze shows that he isn't truly here mentally.

“Morning my tinkerer. You are allowed to join me on the bed, you know that right?” I pause for a moment as I see him not quiet processing what I am telling him, clearly still not ready to be woken up. “Come up here love. Lay down. Sleeping like that can not be good for your back.”

“I need to work...” Olive's voice still sounding tired is almost a hush as he mumbles out his words as if they were a law that was impressed onto him.

“Come up here, you have time still. You know that, right?” I run my hand through his hair and then pull it away.

The man’s green eyes look at me as if they have all the warmth and care in the world. Yet he seems to still not be completely attentive. “Your eyes look like the setting sun.”

Blinking slowly unaware on how to respond I look him in his. “And yours are very much like a forest with all those shades of green, now, come up here love.”

They slowly make their way onto my bed as they curl up next to me. I nuzzle my face into the back of his head and place an arm over him holding them close.

“Go back to sleep. You can’t get anything done if you are tired love.”

We stay quiet as our presence that we bring to each other is rather calming. Olive has always had my back. And if getting him to sleep on the bed helps him even slightly, then I know that I am doing something right.

As I am with him and hear his even shallow breaths I can also hear Corvus and Phoenix melodic snoring from behind me. The two avians being around also keep me at ease. They both had done that before we bonding ritual.

I hear an uncomfortable moan from behind me as I turn around and see the larger Avian stir awake. The sun falls on his body as it creates a glow. The magical bond tying us together as I activate it allows me to see the imperfections on his skin possibly from what looks to be some kind of knife conflict that had been healed over with magic almost immediately after.

“Morning Allium.” Is all I say trying to ignore the discovery.

“Mornin’.” He mumbles under his breath as his eyes slowly open. His purple eyes land on me as they seem to scan my body. “You seem to have a glow flowing through you that I can see." He slowly reaches out to me not moving much as to not disturb Corvus who is sleeping on his side. “You look... your glow reminds me of how she...” He doesn’t finish his thought as he seems to shut down.

I stay quiet briefly and then reach over to him and send a warm energy coursing through his body to help sooth the anxiety that I feel coming from the bond. “Little bird, it is going to be alright, I don’t know what happened, but I am here for you.”

“She broke the trust bond... but replaced it with another. I am scared. I don’t... I don’t want to listen to her... I ran away, but what if she finds me?” Phoenix moves himself closer to me causing Corvus to stir slightly but the small avian seems relatively unfazed after the moving.

I can feel all three of them with me. Their presence puts me at ease. Yet, even though I managed to put some of Phoenix’s mind at ease the fact that I hear someone hurt him in anyway infuriates me. Especially since he fears this person discovering him. Despite being calmer I still feel his unease. “ I will be there for you. I won’t let her hurt you again. Okay, Allium? You will be part my family and you have us as your flock. We will help you where you need help.”

“I trust you Lu.” Phoenix pauses before continuing briefly. “And that is what scares me.”

Those last words hung out and weighed on me. It must be petrifying to the avian that had his trust bond abused. I will not do that to the man and I will make sure that he is safe from this person.
