⭐️Vedana

Vedana comes from a long line of hedge-witches who called the banks of the Kolva River their home. Her family, once large and revered by the villagers of Vil'gort, dwindled to only her and her mother, then only her. Newly orphaned and Awakened, she travelled west to the bigger cities of Russia, where she found a family amongst a community of mages who claimed no Tradition. Her background helped her greatly in acclimating to this new world she was thrust in to, and she made it her mission to discover the root of the premonitions that plagued her since childhood.

⭐️Dmitry

Though some have come and gone throughout his life, there is one touchstone that's weathered the sands of time alongside Dmitry; an old, tarnished locket with the faded image of Maria Romanov inside. The locket was given to him by the Grand Duchess herself, just a few months before their relocation. He never knew exactly why she gave it to him, but he always thought it best never to speculate. It's not like he'd ever get any answers. The locket is the one thing he never takes off.

⭐️Valeria

Out of this lineup, Valeria is the 2nd most travelled, though she is the first to boast about it. She couldn't possibly fit the stories of her travels into one night's lecture. Having grown up in an influential merchant family, Valeria often accompanied her father on countless voyages through the Mediterranean Sea. Italy, France, Libya, Egypt, Turkey, Syria, there isn't a country in the area that she hasn't been and where she doesn't have some sort of long-standing connection, even centuries later.

⭐️Louvens

Louvens is a very learned man. His journey of magic and mysticism began quite young in his home of Plaine-du-Nord, where he practiced Vodou under his town's Oungan. His studies were cut short after he turned. The matter of his embrace is not one he likes to discuss. Over the years, he studied all he could of the rites and rituals of hermetic blood sorcery. Though he was not the first to combine his vodou practices with thaumaturgy, he is one of few in modern nights who still does. He keeps his rituals close and teaches those in his chantry only what they should know.

⭐️Arthur

It's an open secret that his relationship with Valeria is quite strained. Though they keep up the airs of a doting sire and loyal childe, it's obvious that the inverse is true. Arthur's need to prove himself because of his background feeds his inferiority complex. He has a finger in many pies, all of them aimed at wresting control of the greater Portland area from his ever-critical sire. For all his cunning, his schemes don't go unnoticed by Valeria. It's hard to deceive a deceiver, after all.

⭐️Mouse

Rumors have spread of her various habits and proclivities, but one seems to stick. The enigmatic Mouse can't seem to stand the city life, often only staying within the confines of civilization for a few nights at a time, if that. No one knows where it is that she scampers off to "recharge". Most are sure it's within the dense evergreens surrounding Astoria. The odd kindred or two have fallen into some rudimentary, yet effective, traps while trying to tail her.

⭐️Raven

Poor Raven missed her little sister, Grace, dearly. So much so that she nearly violated the Masquerade in order to see her. They had spent the last 48 years apart, after all. Raven's missing person case went cold and and she was declared dead. That was it. There'd be no chance to see Grace again. Once she heard that her little sister had gone senile and shipped off to an assisted living home at 65, she figured there'd be no better chance to see her. So she did. Little Gracie wasn't as far gone as Raven expected her to be, and well...she didn't take the surprise visit too well. May she rest in peace.

⭐️David

EXT. ROTKOV RIFT — DAY.

There was a gunshot, and the horned creature fell. She turned, and she saw him.

Dmitry. His steady hands held the gun he'd just used to protect her, and on his face, he wore a resolute, familiar expression. It was the man she'd married, and the man she'd left behind when she'd been taken to the Siberia base.

He affected calm and coldness, but she could still read him — she always could, even when they went months without seeing each other. She caught the faint widening of his eyes at the sight of her, and the rise of an emotion, something deep and monstrous, that he immediately smothered with his characteristic focus. It was a ruthlessness she'd also fallen in love with.

They eyed each other, and then she could tell he'd taken a decision—

He hit her temple with the butt of his gun and the world darkened.

INT. ROMANOV ESTATE LIVING ROOM — DAY.

She woke up on an unfamiliar couch, wearing unfamiliar clothes. Her heart dropped when she didn't feel her usual chain on her neck, the chain on which she kept her wedding ring as well as Dmitry's dog tags.
