here are some poems from a work in progress called THE HORSE, a project centering grief, caregiving while disabled, & my usual.

"I slide to the floor and move my body, the way you do when you are a gimp, have been a gimp, will be a gimp. Slowly, methodically and with a build up to reach maximum lift. Using arms to move legs, throwing your body around just to get it to lift, to rise. Every movement has a lead up, like when you run to a goal then... jump, but my jump is moving from the floor to standing. Every movement is a competition between me and my illness. Who will win?" What's that you say? #Chronicpain condition #fibro *and* torn rib muscles and tendons not an Ulcer?! Indeed! After ER visit and 4 hours of phone calls to seven providers, including twice calling ER to get more info and help, I found a doc to actually hear me and he listened and he did not dismiss my fibro or my acute pain because of the fibro but put the pain in the right box and kept me from excesses meds for something I don't have. #hellyes #gooddoctorsarehardtofind #paineater seems even more appropriate now!
