A deviated septum
This might be a hot take but if you call people "mouth breathers" derogatorily/have a problem with people breathing through their mouths (yes, even while eating) you are an ableist piece of shit.
What happens to innies if their outie starts leaning a new language or skill?
Will their speech change, like ‘oh I know the perfect word this’ and they say something in Chinese.
My physical disabilities/conditions that affect me physically
Mixed spastic triplegic ataxic cerebral palsy
Left sided hemiparesis
Leg length discrepancy
Valgus knee deformity
Ankle pronation
Tracheal stenosis
Pulmonary fibrosis
Severe deviated septum
Scalp eczema
Not trying to ‘catch them all’ but wanted to make a quick post before going to bed.

Name: Deviated Septum
Debut: Nasal Passage
Yeah ok. What the hell. I’ll post about Deviated Septum. Whatever. Leave me alone!!!
HELLO dear friends! Sorry about that. I’m just in a bad mood because it turns out we’re all out of Mario characters. No more! So it’s time for plan B. Welcome to the first installment of Weird Mario Medical Conditions!
Deviated Septum is a classic. It’s one I know well! This is when the nasal septum- the wall separating both nostrils- is off-center, making one nostril larger and the other smaller. This can lead to difficulty breathing, as well as one nostril being more prone to dryness, potentially causing bleeding, crusting, and sinus infection.
It doesn’t have to be that severe to exist, though. It can be very slight, to the point you can go through life without realizing your septum is deviated at all! Maybe you have a deviated septum and didn’t realize! I kind of hope that is the case for at least one person reading this. Someone could realize they have a deviated septum thanks to our silly Mario blog shenanigans. You should tell your doctor you heard about it from us.
As someone with a deviated septum myself, I know that a feeling of sweet relief can be experienced by pushing my nose to one side, allowing the usually-congested nostril to spread out and inhale a most refreshing whiff of oxygen!
...Well doesn’t THIS look familiar!
Luigi has on multiple occasions been showcased doing this sort of pose, with his finger on his nose! Maybe he is just like me, pushing it to one side to improve the airflow! Some may say that a finger rubbing the bottom of one’s nose is simply a Japanese gesture to indicate smugness or confidence. Fine. Maybe. But..
That’s not what is going on here! This is the 100th Pic of the Day featured by Masahiro Sakurai himself, in the days leading up to the release of Smash 4! “Without further ado, I'd like to introduce Luigi as he adjusts his nose. Hope you enjoy!“ Adjusts his nose? I do that! I don’t think a regular nose has any need to be Adjusted. And again, this is the 100th of these pictures. A big milestone! I choose to believe this was intentional, to confirm Luigi as Deviated Septum Representation. He is just like me! For real!
If your septum is deviated too, I hope you appreciate knowing that our dear friend Luigi shares our experiences!
I hope you look forward to the next installment of Weird Mario Medical Conditions. You won’t believe which Koopaling has a tapeworm!
What do you mean you only developed smell in the last two years??
So I've had bad allergies since I was a wee child and couldn't smell a damn thing and didn't really get them under control until I was in my mid 20s. But by that point I had already broken my nose twice and essentially closed off my sinuses to airflow.
A couple years ago, a tequila shot tried to go out my nose because I laughed while taking it. But since I didn't have a nasal passage it just got fucking trapped in my sinuses. (Do not recommend.) So I finally went to a doctor about it and got a septoplasty to fix my severely deviated septum. ( it was at 90°)
And let me tell you with good allergy meds and nostrils that work as they're supposed to I feel like I have gained a super power. I can smell and taste like shrimp colors. Didn't even know what I was missing before.
Me every single day:
