I've been reading through late 80s Batman to try and make a semi-coherent timeline (which is proving very difficult) and writers really like the idea of events taking place 25 years after the Wayne's deaths.
(Detective Comics #574, February 1987, written by Mike W. Barr)
Implies the Wayne's died 25 years ago which sure, why not.
(Detective Comics #576, April 1987, Mike W. Barr)
But then two issues later, 25 years after the Wayne's died is now... year two? And #574 is very much not year two since Jason is Robin.
This also contradicts Bruce being 25 in Batman: Year One but Barr's introduction in the Deluxe Edition of Year Two makes it sound like he hadn't read any of Year One at the time which makes sense since Year Two started the month after Year One ended.
(Batman #408, March 1987, Max Alan Collins)
But he's not the only one who likes placing comics 25 years after the Waynes died! Collins uses a vaguer "a quarter of a century ago" but the implication is still there. My notes say this can't take place in the same year as Tec #574 since:
Bruce meets Jason on the anniversary of his parent's deaths (June)
And doesn't become Robin until six months later (December/January)
So can't be established as Robin like he is in Tec #574 within the same year
But this one feels a bit too nitpicky so I'll cut Collins some slack.
