I kinda can see Danny getting away with murdering his father as self defense, like it was a open secret how crazy he was and that not only scared mom away but also made Danny really sympathetic to the community and local cops. Idk I'm not from the states so don't know how law really works there, but makes sense in my head, can see him seeing that as a admission of guilt from the whole community that they just let his dad do whatever he wanted until someone else intervened.

Yeah, my thoughts was basically along the lines of that Danny’s dad has probably gotten physically abusive at times—I question whether he’s done enough to get somebody sent to the hospital… I’m placing money on yes. Like… he’s running his own personal boot camp, I think it’s pretty reasonable to get evidence that would back up being under “extreme stress.”

But at the same time, proving your case in court is as much having a good lawyer and a lot of luck as it is that the evidence be in your favour.

It’s something for me to spin around in my head…like there’s just so much to read into about Danny and his relationship to his father.

There’s obvious idealism, a bit of idol worship, but also an edge of dislike, the festering of an old wound just beneath the surface that’s begging to be picked at.

I think his dad was a very inconsistent parent, tending towards aloof with strict standards of how things should be done (boot camp will do that to ya) but when his standards are met, or rather, exceeded, he can prove a surprisingly warm parent.

I picture his mom as being a bit warmer in temperament, and a little more indulging… but conflicting in interest with Danny and his dad. Like… the old man isn’t going to care if young Danny gets into a fight, he’s only going to care that he wins and will praise him if he does so—but mom is going to be upset that he got into a fight at all.

Just the kind of parenting to make you feel deeply confused.

I do sometimes wonder this same thing, about how the Entity can take these people without causing any outer disturbance, but when the wiki said the spidery form of the Entity may be inspired by the form taken by the creature from IT i got thinking. IT can be visible as a large female spider (like how the Entity is often referred to in lore and by Devs with female pronouns, and takes the form of spidery claws in the trials) but has a true form of swirling destructive orange lights "deadlights" (which may explain the orange goo on maps, and makes the name Dead by Daylight kinda a play on words of "Deadlights"). IT is described as a multiversal entity, feeding on fears, much like how The Entity is a multiversal Goddess who feeds on emotions like hope and despair.

It's fully possible that if The Entity is based on the writings of Stephen King, that while IT is a basis of The Entity's appearance and nature, the scale of it may be something similar to a Langolier, a creature that devours time at the end of a universe. The Langoliers' consume dying universes, and destroy remnants of the past, including those who are displaced in time. The Entity may be the same, they may be an unseen force that is cleaning up the multiverse of dying realities, and those who do not belong in their time. Maybe as a universe comes to an end, the Entity chooses new players to add to it's games, feeding it the hope and despair that they need to survive. After all, those who escape can find themselves in the void, as if there is nothing outside the Entity anymore, that theres no home left for them to return to.
