Goodness, i have to say I honestly donāt know Danās origin story. Iāll have to think about it! (tbh, I feel like itās nothing special?? he just studied journalism in school and at age 18-22 had big thoughts of going into war zones or working for CNN but being a journalist is fucking hard and you take what you can get, especially at the beginning and he learns he likes talking to people more and more and at one point he gets a job at SI and even though he doesnāt really like sports all thatĀ much, he winds up liking the office and the people enough that he stays and works his way up and, look, a whole page that you are in charge of every issue (plus some online only articles) is nothing to sneeze at so heās happy and he gets to be around happy people (usually) and he thinks he makes other people happy and thatās that. heās living a simple, good life.)

Weirdly enough, I was a bit late on that update (didnāt know it was coming out early) and then I saw a post with her and people were calling her Dani and it was a very confusing time in my life. (The reasoning is not related to Dan Erikson at all) but so basically I read Daniās backstory (Iām so sorry I forget who started this but we ship her with George it seems like) and am down with that so Blond Woman is now Dani and not Dan Erikson.
In a world where Dan Erikson is also a falcs reporter, iām here for her purposefully going by Dan if it gets her an additional question though. Like she gets called and asks her question and then they call forĀ āDanā and she jumps in and asks another question like the straight boss she is and Dan Erikson would be mad about it except he has been in love with her for years and he knows its not gonna happen but if she takes his turn, thatās okay. she usually asks good questions anyway. and she always turns back to him and gives him this smirk soooo...Ā
(Dani and George getting together helps Dan Erikson get over his dumb crush and now sometimes he claims to go by Danny if he can cut her in line and ask a particularly good question. They are quite friendly rivals now who go out to drink whiskey and gossip every Wednesday night.)

I loved Dan Erikson Part 1, but I absolutely LOVED Part 2, Ethics of Journalism!! I feel like you captured the characters and their group dynamic perfectly. It felt real and I burst of laughing multiple times towards the end. Wonderful writing!!
