I sit down, feeling numb,

Guilt coursing through me,

And all courage lost for what's to come;

The wish to bring back the years lost, a broken plea.

Now all my days are spent,

Thinking about that night,

What if things were different?

What if I hadn't done right?

I only wanted your life to be better

Than what is mine,                        

But I didn't have the money,                        

Didn't have the time.  

“I'm sorry,”

I say,

My voice blotchy.

I’m laid down bare, no finesse,

Only asking for your forgiveness.

Forgive me, I messed up, I know what I did; It was wrong, and so was I… There’s no denying it.

I can only beg for forgiveness I know I don’t deserve. Please choose to set me free from your hurt So both of our hearts can start to heal– Yours from hurt, mine from guilt.

Look at me, I’m on my knees, My mistakes lie at your feet; Please walk forward and leave them behind, A thing gone, a thing of the past.

Can we move past this, and make a new present? A blank canvas awaits to paint as we wish. Let’s create something beautiful and forget to look back. The future is before us and forgiveness is the key.

Forgiveness is art, a stroke of love. I love you…do you still love me?

Who will die when I cry?

The kindest heart had belonged to Sebastian 

Until late one night it was shattered

His mind played the staggering scene on repeat

And suddenly, nothing else mattered

How his dad keeled over unexpectedly

Ironically, his heart did him in 

Then all Sebastian could seem to do is cry 

Knowing he'd never see him again 

 A cold-hearted witch lived right next door 

And was sick of his constant sorrow 

She created a potion to slip in his drink 

When she'd give her condolences tomorrow 

Sebastian gulped it, not knowing what awaited

Just what heartbreaking hex lay ahead 

Every tear he shed from then on had a price 

Striking some innocent person dead 

The burden had only created more tears 

Until late one night at the door 

Sebastian stepped out for some overdue air 

To find his mailman laying dead on the floor 

So Sebastian fought harder to keep it in 

Tried everything not to let tears flow 

He even stopped the chopping of onions

 And only watched comedy shows 

He tried to ignore any saddening thoughts 

But while facing the window he viewed 

His witch neighbour slip off the concrete porch 

And without thought, he ran to her rescue 

Sebastian's selfless act thawed her frozen heart 

Making her reverse the curse 

Then an unlikely understanding occurred 

When they began to converse 

They realized they were more alike than they thought 

And both had endured a difficult loss 

They talked all night and the witch confessed 

While coughing, what the potion had cost 

It slowly poisoned her, making something so vile 

She explained with her last breath 

Ironically, Sebastian was the only one 

He trusted in the scripture her lips had written on the parchment of his soul. A pure heart laid upon the altar of hope sacrificed in the hands of temptation. A once beautiful sanctuary incinerated- left sifting silently through the solitary ashes.

She brought the match as close to his heart as she could striking at the core of innocence and romantic dreams. Flames of passion and desire ringing high- he was left burning in the fire she set with her lying eyes.

Written on her palms was “I’ll never leave,” imprisoning his heart with every rose laid at his feet, while her fingernails dug deep graves in Satan’s back. His hands worshipped her whole being, believing in holiness. Even built a home around her impurities, expecting salvation.

Lost in this church of lies, once a bright light of hope breaking through the colored panes. Only a shattered reflection remains in the hallowed empty space where darkness carved her name- A casualty to his own will, wandering the wasted lands, promises unfulfilled.

A man brought to his knees, risen in her confession, cleansing his hands of guilt created within his own mind. Forgiveness given only unto his own heart for its blind ignorance brought upon this pain- the rusted chains broken, laid upon the doorstep of this prison.

Casting a covenant between himself and his barely beating heart promising to glue the broken pieces back and create a memorial to ameliorate the sting of each lash she whipped across his back; so his mind may never forget, so his heart can forgive.

My pale form kisses the earth; I pulse with every psalm.

Only moments before Breath warm Another left turn What did the preacher warn?

A cold deliverance, stoic faces; tempting not another tear.

And cold breath, Met by a moment’s fear Pale, yet inviting Broken beyond repair

Here I remain in fragments, without a love to deliver me.

Crying out  Words, without a sound What is faith? Where is hope?

When did this dream end? Why does it all seem pretend? When did the stream begin? We were a team, friend. 

But this isn't a dream is it? My bright life, no longer lit. What will you do in the dark? When sunshine has bleached your heart? Like a brown book, archaic sentiments. Old fashioned, yes but retains innocence.

Would you clasp your locket? Or memories lost in pain amidst? My soul weeps, but do your eyes Release any tears where my body lies? The picture of me hung close to your heart, In our locket, let us never be apart.

Clasp the memory of me. Grasp like you can will me back. Gasp if I return in the black Will you remember me the same? Love such as ours could never be named.

I sit alone tonight In an empty room again Hoping ill be alright Once i finally reach my end

One thought seems to remain As i lie here awake A thought so strong That I just can’t shake

It is finally clear to me That i have been the invisable girl all along I thought things would be different But i am clearly not that strong

I know no one will cry As my days are becoming few No one will even notice No, not even you

As i lay my head the final time And drift into the night Tomorrow you will get the word I didnt make it through alright
