Small Stone Cist, from Hastings Hill Bronze Age Barrow, Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, Sunderland
This cist burial is of an 18 month old child. The bones show that it suffered from rickets, a condition caused mainly by malnutrition. This led to weakened and crooked bones.

REDOING THE CHRONICLES IN SPACETIME MASTERPOST BECAUSE I MESSED UP LAST TIME
still don't know how you delete images on mobile, will never forget chert baby
Chronicles in Spacetime (or CIST as I usually abbreviate it) is a story that takes place across all of time and space, hence the name. It follows the adventures of a young Timelord by the name of Gilligan, who travels across the cosmos in a salvaged TARDIS. During his journeys, he learns more and more about the Time War that ripped his life apart, as well as more about himself.
As the greatest conflict in the universe’s history hit Gallifrey, Gill escaped in a Type 56 TT Capsule and left as his world disappeared seemingly permanently. Ever since then, he’s been trying to find a place where he fits in, to little avail.
As time went on, he started hearing whispers among passersby of the fate of the vanished Doctor, the last hope of the universe. He was assumed dead, gone with Gallifrey and the rest of the Timelords. So he took it in his own stride to do the right thing where the Doctor could not, solving problems and ending conflict anywhere he could, no matter the cost, in his own unique way.
ALLIES, FRIENDS & COMPANIONS
Elliott: Small, 13 year-old Kobron kid. His family is the richest in the Geode. When Gill meets him, he's rather uptight, rude, and struggles to resist pinching a few pennies here and there. Despite all of this, he shows over time that he still has the desire to make moral choices. He can't stand to see anyone suffering, and will do what he can to help out where he can.
Aster: Tall, early-20's Multeth woman. Works a packing job for the Geode's local delivery service. After a lifelong aspiration to be a legendary athlete went down like a lead balloon, she decided that using her great agility to carry packages was the next best thing. She has an incredibly strong sense of justice, and will protect those she cares about to the final breath.
Solus: Early-20's Purikett woman. Studying in med school, they dabble in tinkering as well, making simple devices and contraptions to give to their girlfriend, Aster. She's witty and clever, and she's also very passionate about what she does. As a med school student, she also has learned to live with less than four hours of sleep per night.
Aurora: 16 year-old Scerpenn girl. The Geode is not exactly known for its diverse wildlife, but Aurora still tries to keep in touch with it. She's a very wildlife-obsessed person, and considers herself to be a self-taught zoologist. In general, they're quite accepting and tolerant, and would rather judge people by the content of their character rather than anything else.
WHO COULD FORGET THE METHOD OF TRANSPORT?
TARDIS - Time And Relative Dimension In Space.
Type: 56
Mark: 3
A "lite" model with no Chameleon Circuit whatsoever. Bigger on the inside, with a good bit of retro feel for the desktop. Can go anywhere in time and space, given the pilot is competent. With Gill, it kinda depends on his current state of mind. Despite being a slightly newer model, it's still a decently-old antique by the time Gill gets his grubby mitts on it.
BUT EVIL LURKS...
Of course, Gill has yet to learn the biggest lesson of all: even with an endearing backstory, or the strongest, most pure-hearted will, the universe generally fails to be a fairytale. The space operas you see on TV isn't always the norm. Sometimes, those who seem even the least harmful or murderous can turn out to be the most dangerous beings in the cosmos.
Keep on the lookout for anything that isn't what it seems. It might just save you your lives.

"Whencesoever they came, the men of the British bronze [age] race were richly endowed, physically. They were, as a rule, tall and stalwart; their brains were large; and their features, if somewhat harsh and coarse, must have been manly and even commanding." John Beddoe, The Races of Britain: A Contribution to the Anthropology of Western Europe (1885). These pictures are a selection of Bell Beaker folk Bronze Age artefacts at the Kelingrove museum in Glasgow. 1. A bronze age skull of a Beaker folk male whose cause of death seems pretty obvious. 2. Bronze weapons including an axe so tiny it can't possibly have been used for anything but some kind of ceremony. 3. Gold jewellery. 4. Cup and ring marks carved in stone. 5. Funerary urns. 6. A tiny urn for a child? 7. I am pointing at one of four stone slabs that formed the cist for a high status male burial. The zig zag engraving resembles other early Indo-European art seen on pottery. 8. An actual bell beaker for drinking rituals. 9. A woman's necklace made from jet. #indoeuropean #bellbeaker #bronzeage #scottishbronzeage #scottishhistory #ancientscotland #ancientbritain #bronzeagebritain #beakerpeople #beakerfolk #cist #burialmound #cremation #archaeology #kelvingrove (at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/CUSlxmTtPiW/?utm_medium=tumblr
This megalithic grave was constructed at the end of the neolithic period for central Sweden, approx around 1800 BCE. it's a rare sight in central Sweden when the majority of the megalith graves are located in the western and southern parts of the country. Several burials have been executed here and at the time of the discovery the remains of at least three individuals was confirmed to have been buried both by dehumation (skeletal grave) and cremation burial. The top layer of the filling, (the stone structure was originally covered) also contained the burnt remains of an infant.
Somewhat conceptual image of a nearby "Hällkista", also known as Cist in English. A cist is basically a family grave made with slabs of stone (Hällkista literally means stone chest/coffin) from the stone age. This particular cist has been destroyed when getting dug out during the 40's-60's sometime, so all that's left is a few main supporting stones.
The concept of this image is mostly related to death, since it is pretty much everywhere in this photograph. The tree is dry and leafless since long ago, the soil is full of limestone and slate rendering it infertile, the grave itself has been ravaged and its content has been put into local displays or simply thrown away.
