#cheating is wrong

which for you, is fucked and pliant in reed richards’ warm hold. you know it’s bad. he’s married. he’s a father. he’s off the market…yet he’s irresistible.

on the night sue said he hurts her when he’s himself, he was questioning his marriage. who the fuck says that to someone??? the circumstances were understandable, but she didn’t have to say it with such contempt. such anger. reed didn’t know how to respond, or even how to react…he was shocked.

the world was saved by the end, but the damage was done. franklin was safe, but at what cost? their marriage? their trust? their love..? reed has been working more, spending time with franklin while sue spends time on civil matters in their world.

he’s also been spending a lot of time in your apartment. usually half dressed…he feels horrible about it, but he can’t stop. you make him feel okay being himself. you make him feel like he’s not a monster. and…well you know about sue. you’ve always known. you were reed’s assistant before sue got pregnant. when she told reed the news, he started getting hyper-fixated on the baby’s condition, eventually you became obsolete in the process.

you were fired by a horribly scrawled note. he was so wrapped up in franklin, he forgot himself. you understood, of course…but it still hurt. you looked up to dr. richards. you found him attractive, and funnily sarcastic, in his own…autistic charismatic way. you missed him. and one night during the extremely warm summer, you bumped into him.

he was alone, no baby or wife…you ended up getting a drink and, well, that’s the night it started. the lies. the sneaking around. the cheating. there’s no other way to put it. reed was a bad man…he was a horrible man. but you made him feel better. and god did you have great tits. though, it’s not the only asset he appreciates.

and y’know…it kept happening. til..well til you found out about the baby inside you. you freaked out. it’s not that you didn’t want the baby, it’s that the father of the baby is married. and already a father…

when you told him, he cried. he apologized profusely, wept into your lap, and finally realized he needed to do something. he couldn’t just live a secret life. he had to tell sue. and he had to choose.

did he want to be seen as a liar or a cheater?

he spent the next week trying to figure out how to tell her. he kept visiting you, making sure you are okay, and making sure you were doing okay. and of course, you felt horrible. you were his pregnant mistress. but sue wasn’t fully innocent. she never tried to apologize, to amend what was broken. she threw herself into being a mother and being a political figure. she neglected her spouse.

he ended up making a mess. he blurted out about the pregnancy in an argument with sue. she was…not pleased. he got kicked out with the promise of papers being sent to him soon. divorce papers.

he was walking down a street sidewalk in the rain and when he noticed he was passing by your apartment complex, your lights were on. he might as well try before he ends up in a shitty motel.

you were on your third round of throwing up your dinner when you heard the intercom suddenly buzz. who wants to see you at 10 pm?? you groaned, standing and shuffling to the receiver, pushing the button and speaking tiredly,

“hello?” you lean into the wall, letting go of the button and just resting your head against the wall.

“it’s reed….uhm…sue…sue kicked me out. i…i told her. about you, about…about the baby..” you could vomit all over again. but instead, you swallow down your nerves and press the button to allow him entry without another word, knowing he knows his way up by now.

you sit onto the couch, rubbing your temples as your heart pounds. you don’t know what to do. your baby’s child just left his wife. and his son. you don’t know how to feel…but in some sick, twisted part of yourself, you almost felt happy that sue knew. that he told her he found solace in another woman’s arms while she pushed him aside.

a knock sounded at the door and you got up and answered. you opened the door to see a very rain soaked reed, with teary eyes. when you see his tears you sigh, opening the door wider and letting him in, kicking the door shut as he melts into you and just cries.

you stroke his soaking wet locks and lead him to the couch, sitting with him silently for a long moment for his to find some composure. once he stops sniffling, you hum, kissing his temple and whispering softly,

“tell me what happened, reed…”
