I have a few things to say. You are going to do amazing in your show regardless of what you do for the show whether you're a Drum Major, Colorguard, Brass, Woodwind, Battery, Front Ensemble, Dance Team, the parents who help with props, or just a band parent.
Colorguard we love you despite everything, YOU guys make the show prettier in a way the band can't show in sound.
Percussion and battery you guys are wonderful people and fill in the sounds us wind instruments.
Brass players, I'm a trumpet player and I love my brass friends, but make sure to play with a proper sound unless your Band Director told you else wise (not professional advice from me)
Woodwinds, my best friends are made in the woodwinds, you guys have the prettiest sound in the band and could scare, lull, calm, or suspense a song. Look at your reeds, Pack extras for back up.
Front Ensemble, my wonderful friends, you add the extra sounds needed to make the show ambient and make the surroundings line up, filling in the blanks that winds can't make.
Dance team (my band has a dance team), you may be dissed on lightly from the band since you don't have the same practice dates as everyone, but it doesn't mean you don't add visual effect to the music.
Drum Majors, I've been friends with a few and respect you all, You guys do such a good job at keeping the band, dance, guard together. You are the glue that keeps the band during the show together, You can do anything to win that competition.
Battery or Drumline, drums are heavy, Giving tempo to people around, not marching like everyone and those crab walking steps? Skill I say it takes skill to march a drumline and for that take pride in what you do.
BAND PARENTS. THESE BANDS AREN"T BANDS WITH OUT YOU GUYS! Warning these parents are the ones taking their kids to band and back, paying the fees (not everyone but majority) They are the reason why so many of us are able to keep doing this. Thank them.
Band Parents who come to competition with the band, Thank you for helping with the littlest things like helping fix uniforms, shakos (if the band has them), and caring for the kids.
