Like is the pitch at this point really that we should be relying on ai to do our jobs, make our art, make our music, do our homework, do our chores, research for us, write our papers and emails and texts, summarize all our books and videos and movies into a single sentence, strap a chatbot to your physical body so it can tell you how to respond to people in real life, replace therapy and friends and partners, think for us, do for us, exist for us, and this is being sold as “convenience”? Wow ai saves me so much time! It’s so nice to have something that can live for me so I have more time to *checks notes scribbled on hand* uhh. Sit and stare blankly at a wall? like . I cant even blame them for being like “we’ll monitor for the week”. Remember when they changed the blue back in like 2015? This website acted like staff had gone into their house and shot their dog. We’re here because we’re allergic to change and therefore it’s hard to parse if people hate the change because it’s bad or because we go into thermonuclear meltdown over what color blue the background of the website is. Just continue to bug them beyond today and beyond this week.

Another "for later" step I'd recommend is, once the changes are out in the mobile app (NOT YET), leave a one star review on the app store and mention why. If the rating goes down significantly, that provides quantitative evidence that people do not want this change and it's a bad idea.

I am completely pro-lawsuit. Lawsuits are often the only tool that otherwise powerless individuals have to demand some accountability from large corporations and institutions, and historically lawsuits have been a very important tool for civil rights, women’s rights, LGBT+ rights, and disability rights. But this is exactly why the media is always depicting lawsuits as something frivolous and silly that only uptight spoiled crybabies who want easy money do, and people just eat up that propaganda without doing any research or critical thinking.
