So not a cryptid; but I was 12 when the T.V. show "Sherlock" first came out and introduced tbe world to Benedict Cumberbatch. When I first heard his name someone pronounced the last part as "batch" like a batch of cookies instead of "bach". I misheard the "batch" as "patch" I'm 25 now and until recently instead of Cumberbatch I genuinely thought his name was Cumberpatch like a patch of cucumbers and that's how I always remembered his name. Now that I think of it, I guess Benedict Cumberbatch as a patch of cucumbers could in fact be it's own cryptid
