This is a long shot, but if anyone is in the South Okanagan:

The wildfire evacuee reception centre at the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC) is in urgent need of beds, cots, air/foam mattresses, and blankets. There are over 100 seniors currently sitting in chairs with nowhere to sleep but bare floor. TWO seniors' centres were evacuated here on top of the other residents due to the Bald Range fire.

Two local heroes stayed behind in the fire zone at the 105 during the Gustafsen fire, diligently doing their duty and making sure those under their charge stayed safe despite the raging fire.

Sophie, 12 and Tad, 6, had 89 sheep under their care, needing protection from coyotes, bears, and, of course, wildfire.

A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Waterton Lakes National Park and the Waterton townsite in southwestern Alberta as the Kenow wildfire in British Columbia approaches.

Alberta wildfire near Waterton could get worse, says Parks Canada

Residents and visitors must leave the area immediately, officials said as the evacuation order was issued Friday afternoon.

John Stoesser, spokesperson for Parks Canada, said this is only the second evacuation of Waterton Lakes he can recall, the first happening more than 50 years ago for a flood in June 1964.
