We drove from Melbourne to Perth (again), here are some photos from the trip:
^ At the Great Australian Bight. I climbed over the fence to get closer to the edge (shh).
^ At a massacre memorial site near Ravensthorpe where there had recently been bushfires, where Mischa chilled in the bush (good for back scratches). We camped there overnight, it was a sad and lonely place.
^ A mural of a Maremma with fairy penguins (the basis of the movie Oddball) at Warrnambool, and the pink salt lake Bumbunga (with the Lochi-eel of Lochiel in the background).
^ Stormclouds over Balladonia, and frolicking at Ceduna
^ the lookout at Goordnada (Port Augusta), and the 12 Apostles (of which there were never 12, only 9, and I only saw 4!)
Mischa, being a Maremma, is territorial and bred to guard his flock. So he gets a bit overprotective when we're on long roadtrips. He loves going exploring but sees the car & tent (& me) as his territory, so we had some issues with teritorial barking at anyone who looked at him funny. But aside from the barking, he was very well behaved.
The highlight of the trip was camping at a rest stop near Yalata, and hearing dingos howl very nearby during the night! If I had've been more awake I would've recorded it but sadly I was still half asleep.
^ Here's one we saw at the Nullabor Roadhouse! I think it was the same female we saw last time.
