1. Meggie’s thoughts about her feelings and thoughts turning into colours is so heartbreakingly innocent.

3. Resa’s POV right before she vanishes is just so incredibly painful. It was so cruel to make her discover that her own family is gone before she herself was converted into paint. Her last feelings were probably pain and terror for her missing loved ones.

4. I really feel for Dustfinger’s grief at losing Roxane and Brianna, but come on, what about the Folcharts? Dustfinger had grown pretty close to them, particularly Mo and Resa, but all of his grief and rage seems focused on Roxane and Brianna. Which I find weird since in Inkdeath he was shown being pretty close to Mo and Resa. I mean, I get it but I thought that after everything they’d been through together he would at least think about them.

5. Good god, are the Folcharts, Fenoglio, Doria, Roxane and Brianna conscious inside that book?? If so that is downright horrifying and brutal. It might even count as Fridge Horror since iirc Balbulus thought he could hear or imagine them screaming. And it would be doubly nightmarish for Dustfinger if his soulbond with Mo is still in effect, because that means he would be feeling whatever Mo is feeling. And if Mo is in pain then… *shudders*.

6. Goddamnit, all of my favourite characters are among the ones who Cornelia Funke whisked away. I like Dustfinger well enough, but I was never as invested in him as I was in Mo, Meggie, Resa, and even Roxane and Brianna.
