Sketches of Cyrano, Christian and Roxane from my favourite play "Cyrano de Bergerac"
Hello, Professor. Why did no one try to marry Roxanna after Alexander died? Thank you for your help.
Why Didn't Anybody Marry Roxana Later?
It wouldn't gain him anything. In herself, Roxana had no (political) clout. It might also be seen as an attempt to control the heir... and maybe replace him with a child of one's own begetting.
So formally, no. Informally, Perdikkas became her protector, even though Krateros was named regent for the heirs (prostasia) in the Babylonian settlement shortly after ATG died. But Perdikkas had Roxana (and Arrhidaios) and possession is nine-tenths of the law. ;-)
Later, after Krateros and Perdikkas were killed, Olympias effectively became Roxana's protector and Alex IV's regent until Kassandros finally had her killed and took possession of Alexander IV (and Roxana) and then did away with them.
But Roxana was NOT the key to becoming Alexander's replacement. Almost from the start, she was seen as "the wife he had to take to get out of Baktria." She was secondary to Statiera ...which is why she (= Perdikkas) had Statiera killed immediately after ATG died because Statiera was also pregnant. Statiera's higher social position would put any child she bore over Roxana's. So Roxana moved first, with Perdikkas's help.
Why didn't Perdikkas side with Statiera? We don't know. Maybe he assumed Roxana was further along and so a safer bet to carry to term. Maybe he decided she was politically weaker that Statiera and would owe her elevation/survival entirely to him. Maybe he just liked her better. Who knows? (Personally, I'm going with #2 with a helping of #1.)
Anyway, in herself, Roxana wasn't important. Sadly. She was important only as the mother of Alexander IV. Thus, marrying her wouldn't gain a new husband anything, and might actually harm him by marrying a woman seen as "a wild barbarian chick from the sticks."
An audience member at the Women of Star Trek Voyager Convention back in 2001 asked Roxanne Dawson, "If Torres had not been romantically involved with Tom Paris, who would she have wanted Torres to be hooked up with?" Her response was "Janeway." Now THAT for me was sooo sexy! Imagine! π. The possibilities.
Ghetto Love Roxanie π. Such a credit to women who support women x
Oh, I sooo wish she were the one that came through for the Captain ( Kate) as the final curtain came to a close on the set of Voyager back in 2001.
It's all in the teeth...

Are there any other Resa x Roxane shippers? Cause I love them so much and I need other people to be insane about them as well. Like wdym Dustimer is a thing, but there isn't a single Resa/Roxane fic on ao3??? (love Dustimer though, but their wifes are iconic)
