That's a bit tricky. It's more of a mix of things.
ATLA is obviously a huge inspiration, as I'm writing fic for it lol. I'll turn on atla music and stuff inspired by it like lofi sometimes (the only time I'll listen to lofi).
I have many other inspirations, but I'll pick one for rn: history. I've always been fascinated by the subject, ever since I was a kid. Wanna know why I put an ungodly amount of time into worldbuilding? That's why. (I have no time management skills as a writer, someone please help me)

hi rey!! i mentioned this in an earlier ship bingo post i think, but aroace toph is a headcanon i hold very close to my heart, so i don't really ship with her anyone (with one particular exception 😂). with that said...
tokka is so sweet and tbh im sure i could be convinced eventually 😂
tophlee is essentially my only toph pairing!! i love everything about their juxtaposition, from ty lee's airy nature and toph's more "concrete" one to ty lee who was always defined by her appearance and toph who never defined people by theirs. (also, i marked soulmates bc i have a soulmate au for them in mind 😌)
definitely more platonic to me; i can see them bonding over their similar childhood neglect.

just spent the day making a masterlist of what alcoholic beverages the gaang would drink (both in canonverse and in AUs) and holy shit this is the most world-building i’ve done in the entirety of 2020, but anyways among other things i’ve decided on the masterlist, you CANNOT tell me aang and ty lee don’t invent random drinks and taste test them together while the rest of the gaang just watches them in absolute horror. you CANNOT. might add the whole masterlist later but for right now just know aang and ty lee fuck shit UP

Happy Belated FFWF!
Maybe this is a bit of a copout because it's only 700 or so words, but Sangha was definitely my easiest fic to write. It only took me an hour or so, and I felt like I didn't have to consult a ton of references or my thesaurus as I often do when writing. I also feel like I have a really good grasp on both Sokka and Aang as characters (Sokka being my favorite from when I first watched the show as a teen and Aang being my favorite for basically my whole adult life), so capturing their dynamic was a very straightforward process, and the dialogue flowed naturally.
