Okay, time to tinker on an ATLA incarnation of my primary OC (the Arcane folks know her as Haze, though I'll have to change her name, and maybe the name of her Jedi incarnation, Narah, works). This will be the most challenging adaptation so far because, as some of you know, Haze is Black and the worldbuilding of ATLA goes, "Black(-coded) people do not exist in this universe, lol," as I don't remember seeing a Black person on screen ever.
But worry not; I can make this work. I can integrate a Black(-coded) people. Because here's the thing: I don't want to just paste Black people into the worldbuilding, but a people emerging with the histories, cultures, traditions, etc. of the story universe, and I want readers to feel like these people were present and acting in the Avatar universe all along, but happened to never have been on screen. I think I already found the gap in the lore and worldbuilding I can exploit and cultivate.
Headcanon that in ATLA, lemons are just lemons because they're already a crossbreed between a citron and a bitter orange

Azula: Autistic, schizospec
Mai: Autistic
Ty Lee: ADHD

I only see Zuko as Autistic.
Same with Azula and since my knowledge on the schitzospec is limited, I cannot comment there. It makes sense, but again, I can't make comment.
Mai being autistic makes sense for her monotone demeanor, her brutal honesty and her hatred of feeling bored, I have it too.
I don't think I see Ty Lee as any neurotypes off the top of my head... but if I did, ADHD makes the most sense. Like I headcanon with Jet (ADHD hc) she tiptoes as a stim.
