Happy FFWF! Ooooh I love this bit from It'll Be Fine a lot:
âBut thatâs what you do for people you care about,â Jayce reasoned. âYou make sacrifices, you do things they want to do even if you wonât necessarily enjoy it.â
âYes, but not for pain, Jayce!â Viktor suddenly snapped, squeezing Jayceâs hand tight. Jayce started and looked up at him properly, stunned to see the look of both anger and worry on his face. âInconvenience, yes, annoyance, of course, discomfort, maybe, but never, ever pain, Jayce!â
He quickly reached over and grabbed his cane from the side of the couch, and held it in front of Jayce.Â
âWould you ask me to go on a run with you, knowing I needed this just to walk?â he asked sharply.Â
âWh--No--Itâs not the same as your disability though Vik--â
âCan you get through the day without it hurting you?â Viktor snapped.Â
âI--Well, in the spring and summer, yes--â
âCan you get through all the days without it hurting you?â
âWh--No, but itâs not--â
âThen it is disabling!â Viktor said, throwing his hands in the air. âThis fear of the cold, it may not be a disability but it does hurt you, and disables you from doing your daily life when it is cold. It may not be as all-encompassing, but other than that variable, it is no different than my leg. You would never ask me to run, and I would have never, ever asked you to go to the winter festival, in the freezing cold, if I knew you had almost frozen to death as a child.âÂ

korrasami faces their biggest challenge yet! Dining Out With Children
Happy FFWF! What's an unpopular opinion you have in your fandom?
Happy FFWF! Thank you so much for asking!
I think right now the least popular opinion I have in fandom is that Felicia is significantly younger than Vander and Silco.
I think people see the Blisters and Bedrock scene and think theyâre all the same age, which would put her in her mid-30s based on the timeline. That means that she would be having Vi in her mid-30s, then Powder about five years later.
Thatâs not how the conversation read to me, or their reactions to it. Personal opinion, that was a younger little sister telling her older brothers that sheâs pregnant.
I viewed it as if she was in her 20s in that scene, with the nerves of a young woman not ready at all for motherhood. That would make her the âIshaâ of their relationshipâa significantly younger sister tapping in two men who with their age difference would have half raised her themselves. And if you look at Arcane as a series of cycles, that makes it all the more impactful for several scenes.
If Felicia was the baby sister Vander essentially helped to raise, that parallels with Jinx giving up after Ishaâs death. She shut down. She cut everyone out. Then when she pulled herself out of it, sheâd restructured her life around keeping what was left of her family alive (even if she had to die to do it, even helping Piltover).
If Felicia was half little sister and half adoptive daughter like Isha was to Jinx, I can see Vander falling apart when she took on their cause and died for it. Heâd feel as if he completely failed the person he helped to raiseâthe person theyâd have carved out The Lanes to help support, even before they got closer to an independent Zaun. Losing a kid can tear relationships apart entirely, no matter how close they are.
Then thereâs the moment Silco sees Jinx nearly dead on the bridgeâalready a parallel to her motherâs death, but if Felicia was that much younger and they watched her grow up, then I feel like that would be even more gutting. And I do like the pain. I also think it would have made the moment that Powder went to Silco after Vanderâs death even more staggering for him, because he would have seen and already been protecting Felicia at her age but was blamed for her death.
So while I do like the stories where itâs the Zaun Trio and theyâre all young adults together, thatâs not where Iâve gone with my Zaun Rebellion prequel story or how I read it when I watched the show. When Vander and Silco were young adults/teens, Felicia would have still been a kid herself. Part of their motivation for their cause, butâas we saw with Ishaâno less of an active participant because of it. Itâs the warning that Vander gave to Vi about when kids look up to you: âyou light a fire, they show up with oil.â
Might be unpopular, but I find it a more layered story myself!
FFWF: what's something you want to see more of in fic, ideally something that makes you go "okay fine, then I'll do it myself"? are you writing or brainstorming any of those rn?
Happy FFWF!
Thanks for your question! Itâs a great one!
I donât think any of the ideas Iâm brainstorming rn came from that type of reasoning but there certainly are things Iâd love to see more of in the Jayvik fandom. Since the fandom is so big I am sure they probably exist already though, just not widespread enough that I actually saw them that much. I am not planning to write those anytimes soon, but I am not ruling it out.
The first thing is the four adoptive children mentioned by Harry Lloyid. I keep seeing Jayvik bio kids and, as much as those are unbelievably cute, Iâd love to see some more sweet non-bio families happening, like we saw with Vander and his kids or with Ekko and Benzo. Iâm sure there are actual fics out there though!
The second is more of a subversion of a common trope Iâm seeing. Thereâs a lot of works in my radar where Viktor stays in Zaun and is either raised or works for Silco. Nothing wrong with that but, as much as one can trace parallels between Viktor and Silco, I struggle to imagine young Viktor actually wanting to work for him, I see him as someone more likely to oppose him and join the firelights. And yesterday I was telling a friend of mine âYou know who could actually be naive or desperate enough to join him in his youth? Jayce!â Not that Jayce would be ecstatic at the idea, but Viktor is extremely rigid when it comes to his morals and we know he has some lines heâd never cross, at least in his youth. Jayce on the other hand can be pressured into doing pretty much anything if you know which buttons to push.
So I guess Iâd like to see something with exiled Jayce being recruited by Silco and either manipulated or threatened into developing Hextech work for him.
For FFWF: any deleted scenes from the Sandbridge verse that you can tell us about? â¤ď¸ (for purely selfish remix sequel motivation reasons đ )
ACTUALLY, yes! Though I don't know how useful it's going to be for your remix sequel (which I am ardently looking forward to!)
In Chapter 4 of My Three Dads, Tony and Bucky are at a gala in New York with Maria, and Tony gets cornered by Ty, who says some very surprising things and suggests that Tony come over the next day to collect some things he'd left behind.
Tisfan and I actually wrote that scene, but when we got to the editing stage, it just... didn't fit quite right. So we threw in a quick reference to it at the beginning of Chapter 5 and cut it.
But I did actually LIKE the scene. And I'd filed it away in my "clips and cuts" folder. So here you go, the Deleted Scene of the last time Tony ever talks to Ty:
[Fair warning, this is 100% unedited.]
.
The neighborhood had gotten nicer; several renovation projects had updated the older shops in the area with brighter, cleaner ones. Tony noticed with amusement that these post-modern stores were catering to an âold fashionedâ hipster feel, even though they were much cleaner, with better lighting, than the previous places had been.
The high rise where Tony had once lived was both strange and familiar. He hadnât thought about this place in years, hadnât missed it once those first few months of living in Virginia had passed. But everything was so very familiar; he even remembered the dips in the front stairs. The stylised elephant statues had been replaced at some point with elegant stone cranes, but the brass numbers on the front of the building were the same, as was the fading green linoleum tile in the entryway near the rack of mailboxes.
Tony stared around the little entryway like he was seeing ghosts. He was grateful for Buckyâs presence at his back, strong and certain, more grateful than he could ever say. It took an effort of will to walk over to the intercom system and punch in the apartment number. âItâs us,â he said when it crackled to life. âFor my stuff.â
âCome on up,â Ty said, cheerfully, buzzing them through the door.
Bucky was looking around with a wary sort of curiosity, and his hand was on the security door when it buzzed. The last few times theyâd been in New York City, everyone either had their own home, or rented in a building with a doorman, but he pulled the door open as soon as it clicked and ushered Tony through. âItâs okay, baby,â Bucky said, putting his hand on the small of Tonyâs back as they stepped into the buildingâs aging elevator. âWorst comes to worst, Happy can come back us up.â Theyâd borrowed Mariaâs car while the girls were playing with the oversized dollhouse that Maria kept at her house, just for special granddaughter visits.
(Well, Billie was playing. Olivia was cruising around the table it sat on, and probably occasionally trying to eat the furniture.)
âIf heâs even a little bit of an asshole to you,â Tony said, not for the first time, âweâre leaving. I donât care about any stuff enough to put up with whatever he thinks he can get away with.â He thumbed the floor button on the elevator and leaned into Buckyâs side. âMaybe this was a dumb idea.â
âCould be,â Bucky said, âbut weâve come this far, and I donât reckon Stone wants tâ be arrested any more than I do. So weâll try anâ keep the punching to a nice round number, like zero. Itâll be okay. Everyone saw him talkinâ with you last night, big fancy party. People he needs to impress. Your momâs still got pull with those people -- or has it back, leastways. Heâs not gonna waste that on petty revenge.â
âThis is Ty weâre talking about,â Tony muttered, but the elevator stuttered to a halt and let out a sad ding as the doors slid open. Tony took a breath. It was going to be okay. They were going to get his stuff, and then leave, and everyone was going to pretend to be polite. For the sake of... something. Right? Right.
Ty had repainted the door to the apartment, added an art-deco style geometric border. Tony knocked, and didnât let himself fidget.
When the door opened, Tony wasnât sure what to expect, but Zeke Stane standing there with Tonyâs engineering kit in one hand was not it. Not ever, not even a little bit, not even if the moon turned into bleu cheese and crashed into the ocean. âHey Tony,â he said. âJames. Good to see you. We werenât sure youâd come. Ty⌠Ty thought if this was too weird for you, you can take your kit and just go, now. Or⌠you can come inside?â
Ty thought that? Ty had bothered to think about someone elseâs comfort? Or maybe that was Zeke projecting, but Zeke had never rated very high on empathy, either.
Why was Zeke Stane in Tyâs apartment, saying we like he and Ty were...
Oh, god.
âYouâre together?â he blurted. He pushed past Zeke into the apartment, looking for Ty. âThat whole thing last night, that was you trying to stall me so I couldnât get between Mom and Obie,â he gritted. âWas any of it real?â
âOf course we were trying to stall you,â Ty said. He had a mug of coffee in one hand and was waiting for the machine to pour a second cup. âI canât⌠politically it would be a very bad move to end up on my soon-to-be father-in-lawâs bad side right now. Your mom handled it. I admit, I was impressed.â
âYouâre not a bad sort,â Zeke added, âbut I donât want you as a step-brother, Tony. We had a back-up plan, if we needed one. But Dad has to think Iâm doing what he wants. You know how that is, right?â
There were the rest of Tonyâs things, in boxes, neatly labeled. âI know, it looks bad,â Ty said. âAnd this⌠if things had gone south, we⌠well, we thought it would be best if you and I could come to some sort of peace. If we were going to end up being family.â
That thought made Tonyâs brain stutter to a halt. He turned to look at Bucky. âYyyeah,â he managed after a moment. âProbably for the best thatâs not happening.â Resolutely, he turned to the stack of boxes. âI... appreciate this,â he said, grudgingly.
Bucky was looking back and forth between Zeke and Ty like he was getting whiplash. âHow⌠how did you two even meet? I thought Ty didnât run with thâ big players, up this way.â
âRude,â Ty muttered.
âItâs cliche,â Zeke admitted. âWe met at Howardâs funeral, few years back. Look, James, gimme a hand with these, yeah? Iâll help you take them down to your car. Bearâs got a few things he wants to say. And then itâll be done, okay?â He glanced at Tony. âYeah?â
Childishly, Tony didnât want to hear anything from Ty. Not a single fucking word. Not even if he was going to actually apologize for once. But theyâd come up with the intention of pretending to be polite and nice, and anyway, Ty couldnât do anything to hurt him, not anymore. He took a breath, blew it out hard. âYeah,â he said, looking to Bucky for confirmation. âItâll be okay.â He hoped that came out as a statement and not a question.
There was a threat and a promise on Buckyâs face as he glanced between Ty and then Zeke. It might as well have been written on Buckyâs forehead -- you touch him, and donât forget whoâs with me. Tony had never been on the wrong side of that look. Nonetheless, it was chilling, and a reminder that Bucky could be violent, if the situation called for it. The situation wasnât going to call for it. Tony had to believe that, or he wasnât going to get through this.
âIâll be right back,â Bucky said.
âStick to the plan, Bear,â Zeke told Ty, seriously. âYou can get through this.â
And the two of them grabbed the remainder of Tonyâs stuff, aside from the tool kit that was still in Tonyâs stunned hands, and headed down the elevator.
Tony tightened his grip on the tool kit. It was real and solid. Something he could hold onto. He lifted his chin and met Tyâs pale gaze. âGo on.â
âYou were right to go,â Ty said. He kept his gaze on Tonyâs face, even though he looked like heâd really rather be doing anything else. âIâm not⌠Iâm not going to apologize. You wouldnât believe me and I donât think it would help either of us. What I did⌠that goes beyond the ability for an apology to fix. I was wrong. I hurt you. Intentionally, maliciously, and for my own ends. I canât make up for that.â
Tony nodded, and hoped he didnât look as poleaxed as he felt. âYeah, you did. You took away everything that made me who I was. Itâs. Itâs good to hear you acknowledge it.â
âHe was right,â Ty said, jerking his chin in the direction that Bucky had vanished. âI kept telling myself I didnât mean it, that Iâd make it up to you. But it wasnât an accident. I was careless with your affection and I abused your trust. I used you to quiet my own inadequacy.â He took a deep breath. âIâm sorry. Thatâs⌠uh, thatâs what I needed to say. Iâll. Let you get on with your life now, and I wish you the best.â
The sun might have turned to blue, outside the wide picture window, and Tony wouldnât have noticed. The whole world had turned upside down: Ty had apologized, and it even seemed sincere. Tony scrambled after thought, and words. âI... hope you mean that,â he said. âI hope youâre getting better. If you mean it, then I hope you have a good life, and that youâre able to make him happy. Really happy, not...â He was going to start babbling. He clenched his jaw. âYeah. You know. Iâm... Iâm just going to go, before I say something stupid.â
He hesitated, though, trying to read Tyâs expression, trying to see the truth of things in those clear blue eyes. Heâd never been able to read Ty before, though, and he couldnât trust the apparent sincerity there now. Tony swallowed. He couldnât quite forgive Ty, but for whatever it was worth... âApology accepted.â He walked out the door and waited for it to close behind him before he stopped and leaned against the wall, shaking.
The elevator dinged and two sets of footsteps came out, a rapid patter, and then Bucky was there, one hand on Tonyâs arm. âBaby, you--â He broke off and snapped, âno, just you keep right on walkinâ. You both done just about enough for one day.â
âTony,â Zeke said, and Bucky was right there, in Zeke Staneâs face.Â
âGo. Inside. You donât get tâ touch him, or apologize or excuse your boyfriend or whatever. You done enough.â
Zeke shrugged and went into the apartment.
âBaby?â
âIâm okay,â Tony said. He reached out and pulled Bucky to him, tucking his face into the curve of Buckyâs neck. âIâm okay,â he repeated, and if it wasnât quite the truth, it would be, soon. âItâs all done.â
âBastards,â Bucky spat, glaring at the door. âCome on, come on, honey, letâs get the fuck out of here. God damnit, Iâm sorry. I shouldnâtaâŚâ Bucky had his arm around Tonyâs shoulders, reaching across himself to take Tonyâs hand. Once Bucky had Tony in the elevator, private. âDo I even want to know what he said, or should I just go back and kick his ass for you?â
Tony laced his fingers through Buckyâs, keeping him close. âHe apologized, actually. No ass-kicking needed. Iâm just kind of... stunned.â
Tugging Tony closer, Bucky kissed his hair and forehead several times, as if reassuring himself that Tony was okay. âDoesnât matter,â he said, finally. âDoesnât change anything. Heâs a bastard, anâ Iâm going to make sure you never, ever have to see him again.â He heaved out a great breath. âZeke spent thâ whole time we were loadinâ the car tellinâ me how Ty needed to do this. For them. For their relationship. God, what a selfish bastard.â
âTheyâre well matched, then,â Tony said. âAnd I have no intention of ever seeing them ever again, not if I donât have to.â He wrapped his arm around Buckyâs waist as the elevator slowed to a stop. âCâmon, letâs go home. I feel like taking the girls out for ice cream. Wanna see how much of a mess Livvy can make if we let her have her own?â
âOh, my god, your mother will have a coronary,â Bucky said. âWe should definitely do that. Absolutely.â

I saw @joyful-soul-collector was sending valentines day themed asks. And it reminded me a lot of my fic that I wanted to post a snippet as like a Valentine's day treat. Because the word "Partner" in the context of Jayvik is well, yknow. (Somewhere in the distance my beta reader, who shall not be summoned for I too fear god, is yelling at me that "no, they don't 'y'know'", y'know?)
Anyways, the blurb:
Their hands tangle around the rune and Jayce memorizes the feeling of Viktor against him. Whispers partner, partner, partner into the space between. Existence and nihility join at their fingertips and burn outwards in cold and blazing heat. They are ephemeral and eternal, a contradiction of paraconsistence.
Jayce is not so proud to say that he isn't afraid, but with Viktor against him even death feels gentle.
He wishes he had held him like this before.
He wishes for a lot of things, but that above all else.
for ffwf if you so wish: if anything, what are you working on at the moment?
Hello! I am not currently working on anything - I'm in university and I try not to write fics during the semester because I just don't have the time. But I am rotating an idea in my mind to work on someday, probably over the summer - it's a They Keep Killing Suzie 'fix-it' where Suzie doesn't die and is still a prisoner in Torchwood. I'm definitely going to need to think a lot about how Suzie would fit into the rest of the season one plot, but I'm excited about it!
Happy FFWF! What's an unpopular opinion you have in your fandom??
Hi, Happy FFWF! Hmm. I think my unpopular opinions are all about Viktor. Ha. Iâve written some posts about this recently, but I donât like when heâs portrayed as super feminine (or his waist size deciding his gender identity). I also donât like Viktor being mean to Jayce and hitting people.
