Since Toph didn't get to have a sidequest with Zuko like the rest of the group ( minus Suki, sorry girl) I thought I'd share what I think their side quest would've been!! I'm a big fan of the head canon that Zuko has impaired vision, and probably hearing too, I think it makes so much sense, and I also love the idea of her teaching him to "see with his feet" especially since Iroh had that scene where he told Zuko how much you can learn from studying the techniques of the other benders!!

Sokka is the person Toph complains to about everyone and everything—even him. I think she's quite no-filter, but there are moments when she knows she has to bite her tongue and who she's meant to bite it around... Sokka is just not one of those people. She WILL bitch and moan if she feels like it, no matter whose feelings will be hurt. He always listens, and he always will listen, and that's why she goes on.
Toph has a habit of leaning against him without realizing it. Especially after they start a romance of any kind, I see her kind of finding points of contact in a way that cannot be described as intentional because she doesn't want to be accused of seeking it out lol (yes, accused is the right word)
Sokka finds the best ways to describe color and anything visual to her in.... creative ways. Lol. He tends to veer towards feeling when building a description though (ie: red + anger or intense love, blue = cold) and the system works out for her. She tends to wish for them when he's not around to translate, if you will
She has a good memory in every regard, but Toph remembers every compliment Sokka has ever given her. Every single one. Even the stupid ones. All. of. them!!!!!!!
Sokka forgets anniversaries and birthdays, and where he leaves his keys, weapons, or very important documents that he should keep close to his chest, yet somehow he remembers that she prefers tea slightly too hot and hates milk in it, likes hearing rain against the windows when she falls asleep, and can't stand the thought of socks, just to name a few
Toph flirts by insulting him, and Sokka flirts by overexplaining things. Pre-dating, I don't think they knew they were doing this
Sokka's favorite sound is the smile he hears in Toph's voice when she's trying to hide that she's pleased or amused at something he did or said (he is also very fond of her laugh, especially if he is the one who elicits it)
Toph knows the weight and gait and sound of his footsteps better than anyone’s, and she will never let him know this lmao
She has a stash of his clothes, maybe one or two of his comfier shirts... for reasons......
Neither of them is a particularly jealous person until someone starts flirting with the other. Then Sokka becomes deeply invested in why this random guy’s laugh is annoying, while Toph suddenly hates the smell of jasmine tea because some girl he was talking to was drinking it
Sokka’s the only person who can talk Toph down when she’s genuinely angry because he isn’t afraid of her when she’s upset
Toph falls first; Sokka falls harder!!!!!!!
Sokka realizes his feelings through jealousy, and Toph realizes hers through absence bc everything is just a little quieter, a little less fun, and she hates that she notices it when he's gone
Everyone assumes Sokka is the one who keeps Toph grounded. In reality, she’s the one who stops him from spiraling because she doesn't take his excuses and she doesn't want to hear how he thinks he's failing or know that he's feeling particularly insecure about something he shouldn't be insecure about
Toph loves hearing him laugh
No grand confessions in a main AU. It just happens with them. They talk about it later
Toph has tough luck in relationships because she subconsciously compares everyone to Sokka, and nobody realizes that’s what she’s doing—not even her.
If they ever try to do the Wingman thing to find each other dates, they genuinely do try bc they really just want the best thing for the other, even if it means that's not with them (regardless of the fact that they WILL be endgame)

Each color of paint represents a different person (red for Silco, green for Ekko, and pink for Vi) and it is placed where they have inflicted injury.
The red on the forehead symbolizing both Silco's impact on her mental state with his teachings and the strap that held her on the table while she was being experimented on against her consent because Silco couldn't handle losing her
The green symbolizes the bridge fight between childhood friends.
The pink fingerprints on her face represent the night of the explosion and Vi laid her hands on her.
Her hands are covered in all three of their colors to represent the violence that she has done to them, too.
