Considering how much time Kanto would likely spend with the Gaang in a perfect world, who do you think he’d get along with the best?

And a great ~question~ lets dive in!
So my main ships are Kantoph and Zutara, and I often will include some mentions of Zutara in my Kantoph fics and vice versa. I think that Kanto would likely get along with Zuko the most, but he has his moments with the Gaang. He's a lovable guy, hard for the Gaang to /not/ like him LOL.
Katara - He likes Katara a lot because she is Toph's bestie, and basically threatens him with physical harm if he ever hurts Toph, and even though it would mean pain for him, he loves that Toph has someone like Katara looking out for her. They also both like sharing recipes with one another and chatting about plants in their gardens. Kanto also always calls up Katara for questions about babies or anything he doesn't know. To him, Katara is like his encyclopedia, she knows everything and would rather hear from an expert than someone else.
Zuko - He's very mellow with Zuko, but they both enjoy a good sparring session with each other, whether it be bending or nonbending. Often, they're drinking buddies when the ladies run off to drink or commit crimes (only half kidding—). Kanto really respects Zuko and what he has to say. They almost always have a good time together, so when someone makes a comment about the Fire Lord being hotheaded he's like ??? because he just sees Zuko as this chill guy all the time. Probably because he doesn't see him at work or anything lol. But they are both fiercely loyal guys, so I think that bonds them and they would both do unspeakable things to protect the people they love. Also, I think when Kanto is older, he begins to question his Fire Nation roots, and Zuko is there to help guide him and try to help him find answers he's looking for.
Sokka - Sokka is the friend Kanto goes to if he wants a bit of mischief in his life. I would say it's not often they hang out because I feel like since Kanto is dating/married to Toph he has enough mischief in his life, but Sokka has a fun twist to it. Despite always saying they're going out to do crazy shit, Sokka also has a serious side to him and is there to give Kanto advice when he needs it, particularly when it comes to relationship troubles with Toph. Sokka is obviously very close to Toph, and he can provide a unique perspective to help Kanto through his relationship woes, which Kanto greatly appreciates (as long as he doesn't steer the poor guy astray—).
Suki - I don't have many HCs or stories with Kanto interacting with Suki, however, I think Suki would love Kanto. She'd see how gullible he is and would love messing with him lightly and would enjoy his freak outs and whatnot. I also feel like one of the first times they meet, Toph makes Kanto spar Suki with no bending because she wants to 'see' his butt get whooped by her LOL.
Aang - With Aang and Kanto, I think they're very good friends, but perhaps butt head philosophically. To me, Kanto can be stubborn, so I can see him countering/pushing back on some of Aang's ideologies. Nothing crazy, just some nights where Kanto's had some liquid courage to provide his own opinion on a matter when he normally wouldn't. Aang also would travel the world a lot, so he probably wouldn't spend as much time hanging out with Kanto as other members of the Gaang. (Maybe he does later, if he ends up with Azula LOL).

Since Toph didn't get to have a sidequest with Zuko like the rest of the group ( minus Suki, sorry girl) I thought I'd share what I think their side quest would've been!! I'm a big fan of the head canon that Zuko has impaired vision, and probably hearing too, I think it makes so much sense, and I also love the idea of her teaching him to "see with his feet" especially since Iroh had that scene where he told Zuko how much you can learn from studying the techniques of the other benders!!
