race changing in the shifting community
hey guys!! i feel like there ABSOLUTELY needs to be a more nuanced discussion within race changing, because you all are either extremely pro race changing (and dismiss every other poc who feel uncomfortable with it), or extremely anti race changing (who call people names, disregard the fact that thereâs infinite realities and we are only awareness, and etc) or people who just want to avoid the race changing topic all together and be like âcan we get back to talking about our drsâ or âwe left this in 2020 can we move onâ which is SO.. insensitive đ poc can talk about anything they feel uncomfortable about without feeling like theyâre being dismissed or feel like theyâre creating âproblemsâ within the shifting community.
as stated, i am a south asian trans man, so ofcourse, i have can have my two cents in this, so if you think im âfightingâ anyone, or trying to pick âsidesâ, i am not! im not trying to argue with anyone here, i dont CARE what you think about race changing or what your opinion is on it⌠this post is just more nuanced so if that bothers you, i suggest you scroll now!
so yes, it IS true that theres infinite realities, and that we are only awareness, and that thereâs 100% NO original reality and technically morals donât âexistâ from a stand point, BUT, that doesnt mean morals all TOGETHER donât matter, each reality has different morals. currently, we are aware of THIS REALITY. so we are operating from THIS REALITIES MORALS. humans have a moral compass, and in this reality, we have been thought that rcta is bad (i am not calling race changing rcta, before you pro race changers jump me and call me the shifting policeđ) so shifters see race changing, and associate it with that because we are, basically operating from this realities morals. ESPECIALLY poc can be uncomfortable with it, as a south asian, iâve been made fun of for my culture, my parents had their accents mocked every time they talked, iâve had been called that i âsmell badâ just because of south asian stereotypes â even though south asians literally invented bathing. but ok. so i UNDERSTAND why poc WOULD find race changing uncomfortable, especially if itâs a WHITE person changing their race to asian in their dr, without knowing what poc go through ON A DAILY BASIS. especially if youâre doing it out of fetishization (like ex: youâre shifting to be korean in a kpop dr because you believe that you CANNOT be non east asian and be in the kpop industry, that is a form of internalized racism, because you can just script is normal for your race / ethnicity to be in the kpop industry. you technically donât HAVE TO BE KOREAN). this is NOT me calling race changing bad in general (and i swear if people misread this post, im going to throw my phone across my room), this is me saying why poc MAY be uncomfortable with it.
+ just because, race changing doesnât NECESSARILY equal being racist (and it doesnt) that doesnât mean you HAVE TO BE OKAY WITH IT, and everyone has to agree with you on the topic, because clearly, we need nuance. YOU can choose whatâs moral and whatâs not, so if you feel uncomfortable with race changing, youâre ABSOLUTELY free to express that discomfort, and if you are pro race changing, itâs your job to LISTEN to them and not be passive aggressive to them and talk about how âitâs okayâ or âthis is a limiting beliefsâ or âwe are limitlessâ because we all know that..?? đ youâre not doing anything by saying that. you just look like a jerk silencing pocs voices (or anyone really whoâs uncomfortable with race changing)
and this is an example for me: i HATE people who shift to participate in incest, why? because this is MY reality and i CHOOSE MY MORALS. i have a RIGHT to express my morals too, because we are OPERATING from a reality where, incest is CLEARLY wrong even IF theyâre shifting to a reality where itâs âokayâ, and no, i donât CARE what you do in your dr, but you also cannot expect positive reactions with that. but, this isnât the topic here today!!!
so, if a poc finds race changing uncomfortable, you do NOT make extra posts bothering them saying that them being uncomfortable with it is ânonsenseâ, even if youâre a poc whoâs okay with it, not EVERY poc is, and if it genuinely bothers you just BLOCK them and move on.
this is not me shitting on race changers, i actually donât care about race changing, however i may find it a BIT odd if a white person changes their race to be asian in their dr and doesnât script out racism because they want to âexperienceâ racism, but who am i to tell people what they canât and can do, iâm just a random tumblr blogger lol. but opinions are free, the internet will always be the internet, so you canât really change peoples minds, but also youâre free to YOUR own opinions, so if people are being disrespectful, you can just block
i hope i didnât offend anyone with this post⌠i am NOT pro race changing nor am i anti changing, im more in the middle ground, i donât know how to feel about itđ my only problem is pro race changers thinking that only THEIR opinion matters (even anti race changers do this, but iâve PERSONALLYYYY seen more pro race changers do this)
and if a pro race changer comes in my comments, ignoring all the nuance to this post because they didnât read, then well idk what to tell you anymore dude đ you might be the problem here, because this is NOT me picking sides, i am just saying that we all need to respect each others opinions a bit more, ESPECIALLY the fact we are a very small, tight knit community. this post was just, stating reasons why a poc MAY be uncomfortable with race changing, not a jab at pro race changers / race changers in general.
guys, please READ this post all the way through before some of you guys come at me acting like iâm the shifting police. donât skim, donât read one paragraph and comment âomg who CARESđâ READ. PLEASE GUYS READING IS GOOD FOR YOUđ.
