I've found that every single time I've been in an archery slump, shooting outside has really helped me have fun again. probably because the indoor training range has a timer so it felt like a competition even in practice!
glad it is outdoor season so I can take my time shooting, but I am not looking forward to missing the targets further away and getting my arrows stuck in the mud.

Some pictures from yesterday... please ignore my very non elvish form ;P Truth to be told it was my first training where I had someone who bothered to try and correct my mistakes... And I have plenty of them to correct.
And you can even see how much fun I had on the top left picture - this grin was there the entire time ^^
(Also I got the elbow cover for the last couple of shots and I wonder now if my bruise would be less prominent if I had it on the entire time)

Rapid target acquisition, instinctive shooting, and strength building.
Yesterday I shot about 100 arrows with the Nomad bow. My goal is to get to 500 in preparation for competitions. I'm starting close so I can focus on form and building the muscle needed to haul that bow back multiple times.
My technique of pushing my bow arm away as opposed to pulling the arrow and string towards me to draw helps with muscle fatigue and I'm able to release as soon as my arm is straight and I know I'm at full draw. I try to keep my eyes on the target to practice blind nocking (sometimes the nocks don't want to cooperate) and envision the target two inches away from my arrow tip.
I had a close grouping that made me nervous and diverted my aim. I ended up breaking an arrow from that group and got a new pen.
