Fun facts about the new Shi Faust 🏹
The Eastern branch of Shi Association is heavily inspired by Kyujutsu and Kyudo, the Japanese artial mart of archery and its modern, more peaceful sucessor!
The process of drawing the bow from above, using the muscles of the back instead of sheer arm strength, is a technique developed to allow the archer to draw the string of this comically oversized bow to its maximum, pulverizing your target into a thin, red mist! (Targets do not actually explode irl and in Kyudo you don't even get to think about harming people anyway :/)
Another cool and neat detail that was completely overlooked is the design of her glove! In both Kyudo and Kyujutsu the archer is required to wear the 弓懸[け] (Yugake), a very specific type of glove that allows the string to be pulled with a pinching (🤏) motion. The number of fingers covered by the glove can vary by model, ranging from only 3 fingers, as seen in the image, to 4 or all 5 (although the five fingered one is very rare). But the thing is, the most important part of this glove is the Thumb! The part responsible for holding the bowstring (using the dent highlighted in green as our lord and saviour would do it), which has to be reinforced so that neither the string may escape before you decide to fire or take your whole finger with it!
Complaints aside, I am very happy to see my favorite martial art get some representation in my favorite game and I applaud El Diretor for gifting me with this extremely niche reference.
As a bonus, here is the video containing the entire process of firing in Kyudo, where I took the pics from.

A few days ago I tried medieval archery. It's a truly interesting art that requires a lot of concentration and arm strength. I apparently don't have enough strength, but I can say I got close to the bull's-eye.
I told to @lirisharuha about this experience, and they said the Japanese archery uniform (Kyudo) is very attractive... now I understand why, and I'm sharing my subjects, one of which is dedicated to @nahaerya
I can't say I nailed the pose perfectly, but I'm happy with it.... maybe... but I will share it anyway!
For this occasion, I chose Mohawk Richard because I find him very appropriate... and very attractive...
