"Just let people enjoy things".
Am I physically restraining you from buying plastic crap that ends up in a landfill? Are you walking around naked, because I'm stopping you from buying 100 pieces of clothes per day and wearing them once?? Is my criticism of the cosmetic industry making you feel bad about how you look???
Ferment Your First Jar in 5 Steps
Body copy: Because humans did this for 4,000 years before Whole Foods charged you $12 for it.
One cabbage. Two tablespoons of salt. Your hands. A mason jar. That's the whole ingredient list. No starter kit. No subscription box. No influencer code.
This is sauerkraut — the way your great-grandmother made it, and her great-grandmother before her. Osmosis does the work. You just chop, salt, squeeze, pack, and wait.

Trump is cutting the biggest federal funding agency for public libraries, an absolute social pillar in the United States. In my region, this will slaughter interlibrary loan systems and affect important social programs. Now is the time to get your library card and voice your opinion. Support your local libraries!
It's so frustrating how there is so much *stuff* (clothing, electronics, furniture, food, etc) in the world and so much of that *stuff* eventually just gets thrown away and if you put effort into buying things used to try and reduce the unsustainable about of STUFF it's often just more expensive than buying it brand new and feeding into the material death march we have collectively built and something like 75 percent of donated STUFF still gets thrown away ANYWAY due to the sheer uncontrollable VOLUME OF STUFF but God forbid they let you take! any of that stuff that they were going to! Throw away! Anyway! and urhrjr sdhwhnmwh swpwpqjkadf!!!! SNQMWLWwN WNJ DNFBBdRFS

is it just me or is the word "gatekeeping" is starting to sound a little "don't care how I want it now" around here? I tried to find out what gatekeeping really means, why we're all obsessed with being advertised to, and why gatekeeping might actually be good for us
Sick of ppl saying brides need to be "traditional" and wear a white wedding dress. Even that wearing a non white wedding dress is seen as a bold statement or anti tradition. Which is fine if that's what ur purpose is in wearing a non white wedding dress.
But I strongly want to represent "tradition" by honouring what most of my ancestors would have worn: a beautiful outfit that they would have either worn before or would wear again another time.
Because that is historically more traditional (in the specific culture and class i am descended from) and more beautiful and meaningful imo, by tying it in with ur regular life, rather than viewing it as so entirely seperate.
Maybe I will wear white - if so it will be simple enough to wear to other places.
Maybe I will wear a colour - if so it will be beautiful but simple enough to wear to other occasions.
Maybe I will wear a neutral tone (grey/silver), if so it will be elegant and simple enough to wear to other occasions.
Am I the only one??
