Sometimes when I'm feeling especially obnoxious I'll start describing the merely unusual as "anomalous". It's technically correct, and lends a certain gravitas to the mundane. I've done this in work emails and nobody has called me out yet.

A number generator. A random number generator. That sends out a random number. A number. From one. To infinity. But that description wouldn't be correct, as this utter mockery of the universe's laws can only spit out finite numbers. How many finite numbers? All of them. This monstrosity of a metal box can only be used once. It has never been used.
The sheer idea of this horrifying beast completely and utterly baffles me. The year is 2088. We have solved the Riemann Hypothesis. We have three odd perfect numbers. There are three numbers that don't succumb to the "unavoidable" 4-2-1 chain when faced with the Collatz Conjecture. They were the same. Three. Numbers. All of these monumental discoveries, few of many. Discovered by the most intelligent mathematician that ever lived. Me.
And despite my mental prowess, the sheer idea of this. Thing. Eludes me. This kind of machine shouldn't even be possible. Not only does it break the laws of mathematics, it breaks the laws of physics. And yet it sits in my hands. My feeble, significantly intelligent, yet mortal hands. I am holding the heart of a god. The skull of the devil. The core of the universe. The Big Bang. The Theory of Everything. And it feels. Like a dense, rusty metal cube.
What would the number spit out even be? The chance of any number at all would be that number out of. Infinity? So all and every single number would have an absolute zero chance to be chosen. Yet a number must be chosen. A number will be chosen by this unfathomable entity. Despite every singular rule from every singular law of the universe screaming and begging at the top of its brobdingnagian unfathomable ethereal cosmic lungs.
I take what is likely the most quenching breath of all of humanity. I slowly position my index finger on the obnoxious rectangular shaped button. "GENERATE". It's red. The warning signal of nature. Not the warning signal of the universe, as the universe heeds no warning, the universe is what's heeded. I squeeze my eyes shut as tight as possible, hope for the best, and press down. I slowly, but surely, open my eyes. Would the feeble, unworthy human eye even be able to comprehend the sheer scale and impossibility of the outcome?
The number is four.
Farewell Anomalous Thracian, Gimbal, and the Sacred Serpents of Sabazios
Hail to the Sacred Dead. Anomalous Thracian aka Theanos Thrax, the Sacred Raven Gimbal, and all of the 60 Sacred Serpents of Sabazios have died in a house fire on November 11th, 2025. Anomalous Thracian and Gimbal’s names and deeds will be long-remembered by many communities, among them the American Pagan communities, Vodoun, and Santeria communities. A curious creature. Non-hostile but will fight back.
Personal Notes:
Fun fact, Recipro used to be my Little Nightmares OC when I first started gacha lmao, now it's a creature OC :)))))
Toxic Yuri Game Jam standouts (From the first 25%)
After only a month I've managed to read a full quarter of the submissions to the toxic yuri game jam! With there being 209 of them it can be difficult to decide what to play so here's some of the main recommendations from the first 52 I read! (Please check out others not mentioned here as well.) Please make sure to read trigger warnings if anything might affect you. Things get INTENSE in a lot of these. My Top 5: (From the 52 I read) Loner Dog: This VN is about a bunch of trans girls surviving in a world that hates their existence! Extremely well written, and has all the energy of a panic attack over the course of 5 hours! It's recommended to play Snek's related game Snuff Puppy Shelter first though to get some background details. Ten Metre Tide: Three girls lived on an island that's now being evacuated. Their relationship with each other is strained more and more by their own wishes, and reality coming in to crush their way of life. Miso Shiru: Two friends go on a cruise together, and explore their feelings. In an attempt not to spoil things, you'll get a good clue where this is going early on and it will only ramp up from there. Flesh and Pressure: Transgirl works at a movie theater and has erotic fantasies about the garbage compressor. A very funny submission that will thoroughly destroy you by the end.
Wishbleed (PC) (Mac): (This is a judge submission, not a participant submission) A submission so good Itch needed to nuke it. Before this happened it's description included such google searches as 'Can a girl have an oedipus complex,' 'how to get mom's attention,' 'how to safely remove parts of the body,' 'oh god, there's so much blood, so so so much blood.' Make of that what you will! Important Edition: Snowcorpse Necromancy: While Nadianova is a judge, and a larger content creator, she also had a lot of games nuked from itch. This neocities should have all of her games there. Snowcorpse Necromancy is also a good game, and the one with the most sex so far. However it's used well to tell the story, and isn't just there for you to enjoy. (Though feel free to) Other good ones that haven't gotten as much attention: Gold Laced Throat: Two anthro girls ritualistically fight every month or so. Each of them is shaped by their cultures differing views on their religion, but it leaves them isolated from basically everyone else but each other. Suburban Hell Vampire: Exactly what it sounds like, a vampire in suburban hell. Trying to survive by staying hidden, mooching off rich bastards, and eating small animals. Until she meets a friend who doesn't mind the fact that she looks like a serial killer. Curled in Ice: Two people in a relationship go to the mountain in search of a cryptid, the biggest monster they find might not be it. Well written, but if you're interested in anything but the neutral ending you might want to look in the game's code or find someone elses help. Anomalous: Welcome to the frozen wastes, you play a robot tasked with helping the humans control the various AE (Not SCP, that's a different Judistriction) they have their. One in particular is a bit of a problem child that you can deal with better then they can! However she might not be the real monster here.... Perfect Victim: A bunch of girls are in a bad situation, and it's your job to survive as long as possible. Definently the least VN like, but still works well for telling the story and the end credits music is a banger. Let's go to Heaven: Two scientists try to break up the humdrum boredom of their life through each other, and maybe create a new divinity in the process. Stuff that's also good, but has gotten a lot of attention: Cyberbulli: A girl cyberbully's her best friend. One that got a lot of attention from being one of the first submitted, but it's got some great character interactions to prove that it deserved the attention. Heavensent: Boarding school yuri, with a vampire twist. Very well written, and amazing art. Also it's all made by one person!
Banality: I have to admit, I hated this one. And that's why I have to still put it here. A game about the banality of evil that does it effectively enough that it starts to feel boring, all while keeping up good writing and a reason to keep playing. Immortal's Pet: A goddess has come to help your village prosper, and you are the price that has to be paid. What that means for you is dependent on how good of a pet you are. ID & I: Girl who was part of a community in a world abandoned by the very same people who left it destroyed leaves the last people she knows to spend her time on the internet. How could this possibly go wrong?
Juliet's Sol: Actress falls in love with her costar, who doesn't seem to ever drop the act... If you're looking for one that is toxic and also family friendly this is it, that doesn't make it any more pleasent though. Fairy Unfortunate: Did you know that Fairies are very useful critters? That's why this one got kidnapped by an absolute psycho adventurer. Great story, with a main character you'll feel for.
The Lonely Dog Yearns For Love: Would you sell your humanity to a woman for money? Even if she was a real estate agent? Rachel's trying her best, but sometimes it's okay to give up and be a dog. A favorite of the community for a very good reason. Gravity House Duology: One story is about an anime youtuber and a runaway girl. The others a meditation on the nature of love and life. Both are fantastic and worth your time. Distant Sunlight, Endless Regrets: An angel falls to earth, and starts living another life with their new girlfriend. Old friends come to meet them, and their fragile peace begins to fall apart... Heavenly Amnesia: I'm not sure how to describe this without spoiling it, so I'll just say it's really well written and communicates the characters very well. Read it!
The Heart of Our Lagoon: A girl meets a mermaid, and lives to tell the tale! Good writing of the experiences of the girls life, from the boredom to the creeping horror of the encounter and the sweet relief. Milk Puzzle: Sometimes everyday life needs something to spice it up. Communicates both parts of this equation very well.
Blood of the Future: A VN written in the style of the old horror movies like the original Frankenstein and Dracula. Good use of imagery and themes from very on, and the characters can stick with you suprisingly long for something so short. Uranium Gays: Tired of all the depressing toxic yuri? Then try this one out! It's a comedy piece that has a different type of toxicity mixed into the yuri! Roadki__: After running away from home you want to get to your girlfriends house, unfortunately she's a few cities away. Enjoy the trip with a nice stranger will to let you hitchhike with her! And of course please try mine out as well: Play our Roles: Two girls are trapped in an every changing maze, one will have to kill the other for this all to end.
