How it started: my stepdad was making Chuck Norris jokes. My mom had to be the one to break the news to him (not that he died, but that he wasn't a good person). One of them wrote "1000 years of darkness" in the notes section of our dry erase fridge magnet calendar. I, never one to miss out on a bit, subtract the number of years since Obama was relected (if you didn't know the context, Chuck Norris claimed there'd be one thousand years of darkness if Obama got a second term) and correct it accordingly. Later, my mother makes it say "998 days of darkness" because "it'd be nice to have a countdown"
How it's going: days left of second term countdown on my fridge. How many days of darkness left?
1,034 days left. And they’ll have darkness in them, but if you ever get lost in the darkness, look for the light.
