Hear me out with this au idea: Akira being a King and Isamu the jester. Don't take me wrong, i'm not making fun of Isamu (well, yeah, maybe), I'm just saying that royal jesters usually had VERY important roles, many of them were not only for entertainment, they were also messengers, advisors to the king, some were his right-hand men, etc.
Also, I feel that some of the way the royal jesters were treated is similar to how Akira treats Isamu lmao
So, imagine Isamu making a fool of himself to make Akira laugh, and out of nowhere some other important king enters the castle unannounced to propose something that, even if it's sounds well-intentioned, it's hiding something really really bad, and if it weren't for Isamu, who tells Akira that the other king is lying, the whole kingdom would already be dead.
Idk i just need to read a fanfic like that, even better if it's friends to lovers •3•
Now, getting more into the friends to lovers idea, imagine a 6 y/o Isamu being the most silly and dumb kiddo in the castle just to make little prince Akira —who is the same age— laugh. I mean, he isn't dumb, he was just acting to MAKE THE LITTLE AKIRA LAUGH💔
