Lance McClain-Esposito was captured…weeks ago? Months? He can’t tell. Things get hazy when druids keep fiddling around in your brain like it’s a 90’s era arcade. He shivers in the cold, chains clinking against the frigid manacles that dig into his wrists and ankles.

He hurts everywhere. Nothing is making sense and he’s so goddamn cold and the tacky sensation of blood drying between his bare back and the metal wall of his cell is driving him insane. All he knows is that his team is coming. They’ll find him.

Back on the castle ship, Lance McClain-Esposito saunters down to a lovely breakfast of weird, purple space eggs and something adjacent to chia pudding. He smiles at Hunk, the latter having been hovering over him like a worried mother ever since Lance had nearly been captured by the Galra quintants ago. He sat, ignoring the weird clicking in his knee that accompanied the movement ever since his close call, though he couldn’t fathom why his joint had suddenly started acting up.

The yellow paladin is unarmed. Attack him.

He smiled at Hunk again as his brother gazed at him worriedly, something buzzing in his chest. It had been happening since that mission, and he didn’t know why, but it was getting better, damn it, and he was too afraid to ask himself why in the entire empire he had such strange notions floating through his psyche.

He ate his eggs quietly, ignoring the conversation surrounding him as he tried to ignore the prodding insistence that he should try to hurt his team—his family.
