This tawny owl arrived at the centre earlier today with a suspected eye injury. Our vet team checked both eyes with a fluorescent dye and a Tonovet (a piece of equipment used to check eye pressure) and found significant swelling and blood in the eye - wounds typically caused by a traffic collision. Luckily, this sort of injury has been treated before and we are currently working with one of the worlds leading ophthalmologists to make sure we can give it the very best care. There is still a long road of recovery, but we are keeping everything crossed for a happy outcome. Please keep your fingers crossed!
