During his adolescent stage, it wasn't just Tawny's form that kept changing; it was his whole mood! Sometimes, he'd be so shy he wouldn't leave his and Farrah's den, and other times, he'd lead a coup with other critters! Chris and Lulu are still his closest friends, though he's been warming up to others too, namely Arcas the whisp and Laika the uminu.

At the end of July, his reforming grew sparse. I think he's very close or already in the adult stage. He took on Farrah's mane, Alex's cheek fur and Jeopardy's tail length. He's bigger than both his uncles and a bit smaller than his mom.

He's now much better at socializing and loves a good race. He's also more impulsive than when he was a newform.

He's fascinated with Chris's horn, which is probably why he didn't implement his usual strategy of running in the opposite direction. Lulu is there mostly because she likes following Chris around, but she's also interested in the evasive little rascal.

Day 1-4: Once Tawny formed and was presented to Farrah, they immediately grew attached to one another. Farrah refused to move from her den for days if it meant leaving him behind, and Tawny was content staying at her side, snoozing away. Only Alex and Jeopardy were allowed to visit. Even though they were hesitant to leave, the den began feeling cramped and also a bit dirty, so on the fourth day, the process of warming up to everyone began.

Day 5: Tawny turned out to be quite the shy fellow! He wants nothing to do with the other critters in his home, content to explore on his own and at his own pace, and if one of them approached him, he'd run straight back to his mother and uncles. He's a late bloomer on many fronts though, so he might grow into socializing later on, as he's shown great concern and empathy for small creatures around him. He's a total mama's boy, but he has also shown interest in mischief... Time will tell if his strong attachment to Farrah relents to juvenile disobedience.

As I mentioned, he's a late bloomer so there weren't many noticeable changes on him since he formed. We only know about his longer bangs and larger body.

For a full minute, Jeopardy cannot do anything more than stare.

“My reaction exactly!” Alex laughs, paw caressing the very imbued red gem with gentleness he didn't know he could muster. “And they were just lying there too!”

When Alex asked him to meet in the gardens for a surprise, he expected a snack or a set-up for a prank. Instead, he was guided to a far corner into a messy blanket fort a breeze away from collapsing, jasper in the middle surrounded by pillows while still touching the ground. There's no tell how long the fort has been standing here, though judging by the cleanliness of the sheets, it couldn't be long.

The onyx shakes off his stupor along with his head, clearing it enough to think. “We have to tell someone.”

Alex levels a shocked look to his brother in gems, as if he told him to get rid of them, momentarily pausing his movements.

“No we don't!” The smaller of the duo takes a guarding stance above the gem. Jeopardy has enough restraint and big brother duty not to coo at his attempt to look intimidating. “I can take care of them just fine!”

Jep levels the quantum quattro with a judgemental stare. “No offense,” he begins, “but you are probably the last critter I'd let parent anything.”

“Well of course I won't be parenting them alone,” Alex’s smirk matches the conspiratorial spark in his eyes. “Why else would I tell you?”

The onyx critter is still unsure about the plan. He doesn't like keeping secrets, especially as big as whole new critters.

“And what about Farrah? Will you keep her in the dark, too?” His accusatory tone turns worried as he quietly adds: “You had to notice. How much she wants something to do.”

Silence falls between them, tense and uncomfortable. It lasts all of fifteen seconds before Alex huffs.

“Fine. I'll tell her.”

Despite his worries, Jeopardy manages a proud smile.

“But only after they form.” The small gem curls around the jasper, guarding just as much as comforting. “I don't wanna give her false hopes.”

To that, the onyx only hums. He nudges his younger brother’s head, earning a purr, before slipping through the fort’s entrance back into the house. Guess he's on covering duty.

I would honestly like the jasper more, now that I think about it, so if I'm still their sole submitter, I don't mind stepping back from the obsidian ^^
