A huge majority of my local dating pool is usually federal workers and military (either contract workers, veterans, or active duty). So like ten years ago I went on a few dates with a super chill fella who was a marine combat veteran.
Who invaded Iraq in 2003.
And for the life of me, I’m pretty sure he *wasnt* first recon? But like tangential to them and was like “have u ever seen generation kill? No? Well, I was [memory faulty, we were in a loud bar and I was getting lost watching him eat hot wings (complimentary)]”
Anyway what I DO remember is that he was a sergeant/TL and during a mission, one of his guys kicked him in the face by accident and he spent the rest of the invasion w his jaw wired shut.
Wish I remembered his name. He was cute and good kisser (spicy wing sauce kisses) and was really nice when he broke it off with me (to which I replied “all good, I’m too young for you anyway :)” bc I was. He was like “lmao ouch nice one”)
