Something that occurred to me as I was writing fic; Carla and Betsy's dynamic works because they are so similar, as we were helpfully reminded by the only positive scene in today's episode. And that is going to be what rescues this harrowing plot.
Betsy has already drawn some boundaries when it comes to Becky; she's growing up and it's been happening without her, regardless of wherever they go from here.
Because they understand each other, I'm placing all my Bets on the littlest Swain being the one to knock our lovebirds' heads together; she'll probably end up being the one to reassure Carla that she gets to keep this fucked up little family no matter what- there's literally nothing more messy than the mire they're in right now and she probably is charging interest on that kidney anyway-and they bond in mutual despair at how Lisa is handling all of this and the pair of them team-up to trip the wires surrounding the invisible cage of impending doom placed around Becky.

yknow what's crazy annoying is I'm trynna quit tech and reinvent my life but also I definitely just secured a higher paying job just by doing their stupid hiring ctf because I fucking love CTFs.
