once again running into the problem of "most resources about RAMCOA/OEA refer to only specific forms (ie, religious/spiritual or militaristic/governmental), so we struggle to make use of them because those aren't our situations". this book talks mostly about religious OEA and government & military OEA with only brief mentions of what happened to us. we don't have demons or priests, and the closest thing any of our sidesystems have to "soldiers" are the royal guard in Dreadwood and crawlers in (formerly) Virspace, neither of which function like the soldiers as described in the book.
there have been some useful parts, but so much is focused on specific experiences that just Do Not Apply. and it's like, no wonder so many RAMCOA and OEA spaces we've been in are overwhelmingly geared towards religious cult survivors, because even the fucking resources about RAMCOA and OEA do that! and our experience isn't even atypical by any means, it's just not talked about.
