Comforting through hand/arm/shoulder touches. By the looks of it, Runaan is usually the one to initiate comforting and protective touch. Love the little detail where an injured Runaan intercepts Ethari’s hand from touching his side.

• Lain annoyed Runaan SO much when they first met as kids,but in time he proved to be a good friend and Runaan found himself becoming rather fond of him. He still annoys him though. No changing that.

• #Trouble Magnets (its just that one of them actively creates and gets them into trouble while the other tries to avoid it but somehow ends up in the thick of it all the time)

• Had an actual fight one time and spent the next week so upset that their respective significant others got fed up and sent them off on a wild goose chase that of course somehow winded its way into a near death experience ( because #Trouble Magnets) but they made up in the end

• Lain will eat Runaan's hair when he wants to annoy him. Need ideas on how to rage bait the best assassin in Xadia? Look no further.He'll just plonk himself down next to him and rest his chin on his shoulder nonchalantly. Normal bro stuff.Then Runaan will suddenly notice his side tail moving. Then realise that its in Lain's mouth. Lain will end up getting punched in the stomach,but Runaan's expression of absolute horror at his precious hair getting chewed on will forever remain priceless. Totally worth it.

• Bisexual chaos gremlin Lain and Gay Disaster TM Runaan decide go out for a drink.Lain, alcohol making him feel supremely confident in himself, spends the entire time checking out hot people loudly and blatantly,even going up to a couple of them to flirt.

Runaan can only pull his hood lower,cringing internally as his cheeks burn with mortification. All he had wanted was a drink. And then the idiot starts checking guys out for him,and when Runaan doesnt react, hits him with

" Uh i thought you were the gay one"

Different types of armour,weapon grease,deadly little gadgets and everything a good warrior would need—just laid out for him to pick and choose and test with ease and efficiency.

Runaan (who has spent his entire life being moved from one place to another and never had a place to keep all his weapons,or had to share it with the other assassins at the guild storehouse) is completely speechless.

Honestly, it's probably Runaan trying (and failing) not to be soft in front of Callum.

The two sides of him are in conflict: the side that is slow to trust new people (especially people he's been taught to see as evil), and the one that implicitly trusts Ethari's judgement. In addition, I think after going through the horrible guilt he felt after distrusting Rayla and striking out against her, she has earned a lot more of his trust now, too. He's always loved her, but he still saw himself as the authority over her. But now she's shown him things he'd never imagined being okay or correct before, and he's surrendered to her judgement.

Additionally, he's finally at home with his soft husband!! He wants to give Ethari all of his love and attention, but that pesky boy is in his house.... (pesky is from Runaan's thoughts, not mine 😂)

Like most of all, I can picture Ruthari cuddled up on the couch, and then Callum (maybe with Rayla) comes over because he was looking for Ethari (his ally lmao). He gets super awkward like "oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to interrupt you!!" and Ethari is just like "no it's okay! what do you need?" meanwhile Runaan is giving Callum the hardest look in the world, like 'ugh what else do you want? can't I have some peaceful time alone with my husband? Callum is sweating and Ethari is like "oh don't mind him, he's just puffing up his feathers. he's actually sweet as a Shadowpaw, isn't that right?" and he snuggles up to him, kissing all over his face and sweetening him up until his stoicism fades, and all he can do is soften, hiding his face in Ethari's neck or a pillow 💖 and then Ethari and Callum talk about whatever he went over there for, all while Runaan's face is absolutely burning with the experience of being seenTM as the soft husband he is, in front of someone who is new. but he knows that Ethari wouldn't expose his husband's softness to someone who could use it against him. it's these little things that eventually help him ease up around Callum. Ethari takes his hand and leads him into experiences that teach him that hey, this guy isn't so bad after all. he won't do anything to hurt him, Ethari, or Rayla, so there's nothing to be scared of.

Another silly thought I had was Runaan not realizing it when he's slowly beginning to accept Callum. Ethari praises Runaan for being "so nice to Callum" and Runaan's like ? 'What do you mean' because he's just been being so judgy with all the looks and snarky comments. And Ethari says something about Runaan being patient enough not to get *genuinely* short with Callum when he made a mistake or said something foolish, and how he can tell that Runaan is trying his hardest to be patient and nice to Callum. and Runaan's ears start getting warm as he grows embarrassed but also sheepish from the praise, and he buries his face in Ethari's chest and grumbles out a "no…." and Ethari laughs.
