This show has come across my dash a couple times recently, so I googled 'haven tv show', as one does. One of the top photos shows a collection of hot people standing around on a porch... with a Canadian flag flying in the background?

If that's not the Canadian flag, what is it? And if it is, then why???

I have no clue why the Canadian flag is there. It's definitely supposed to be set in Maine, and the main character comes to town as an FBI agent. Maybe it was filmed in Canada as so many things are. I don't tend to look into behind the scenes stuff, and I'm British so the chances of me being able to tell a Canadian accent from a Maine accent are approximately 0 (also half the actors in America seem to be Canadian anyway?).

But you should watch it. It's batshit insane small-town supernatural melodrama that starts off monster-of-the-week then sort of... keeps piling on more and more lore until things explode. And then adds some more just for the hell of it. Also hot people do stand on porches, Doylistically possibly in Canada, but Watsonianly in Maine. Sometimes they also stand on beaches and boats. Sometimes they stand in liminal interdimensional spaces, too. Depends on the day.

The fact that he thinks there is anyone in this town who doesn't know that he's in love with Audrey is the most unbelievable thing that has ever happened in this show. Sure, Nathan, you're undercover. You're really good at lying and hiding your desperate pining. Good job, Sweetie. You're fooling literally no one.

No one in this show understands what 'undercover' means. "The evil house that has on multiple occasions created fake audio messages, just set up a situation where we heard him tell the woman in the secret society he's infiltrating that he's on her side, so he must be on her side for real."
