so in the first season of Fantasy High we learn from Gorthalax that Solace was originally a Halfling country that was colonised conquered by humans and turned into a country for all races. putting aside the "allegory" of the highly conservative, racist, bigoted cult of harvestmen who have members all over the country, that consider themselves the "true" followers of one of the human gods in a country they conquered, and now hate for its diversity despite being the descendants of the original invaders - Bud Cubby and his family are halflings. Bud Cubby, who is employed by the government as a postal service worker, whose entire family are openly Anarcho-Socialists who merely present themselves as law abiding citizens, and who immediately has a molotov cocktail available to help break some teenagers out of a jail cell because he considers the police to be an occupying force.
Bud Cubby isn't just a badass postal worker who says acab: he's a member of a colonised race that is commonly thought of as sneaky and untrustworthy and treated as second class citizens, who poses as "one of the good ones" to avoid detection and presumably government surveillance, who's actively fighting against the active oppression that is being a descendant of a people that were violently conquered, who wants to take down the government, and who doesn't just say acab but lives by it. and idk I just think that's really interesting and cool to ruminate on
I think it sucks that you have to go to so many different kinds of doctor to take care of yourself. It's the 21st century. I should be able to go to a single office where they scan me with a big xerox machine and tell me what I'm allergic to and why my tummy hurts and if I have any cancer or cavities or if my glasses prescription has changed. And then I should get a sticker.
some more cloho stuff from the past few weeks

be solid, be reasonable, be rowdy. if you can save a mouse you can save a person, if you can save a person you can save the world. so beats a worthy heart, xoxo marya. what does adventure mean to me? everything. on high we go, cloudward, ho.

you sign up for the job because you want to save lives, and sometimes you get a chance to just be really, really, clear about "yes it is my job to save lives, there is an obstacle, and i am paid to use an axe to solve this problem"
Well you see I have a special problem solving tool. It’s called an “axe” it’s really good at cutting red tape.

As a D20 fan/fan artist, it is so fun to see that they love the show as much as I do. That it was more than a job (which is fine if it were) to them. A great Halloween gift. I do hope we get season 3 soon, some of the most fun moments to draw.
I could be proven wrong, but I really don't think Comfrey is the bbeg. I think she's something much more mundane than that:
she's the absentee parent who insists she's the greatest who ever lived because you always have the most fun when she's around, until you grow up and realize how infrequent and shallow those visits were.
she's the mentor who believes in you and makes you better, but pushes you too hard and too fast because she sees you as an extension of herself instead of your own person, and she abandons you when you fall behind.
she's the lover who charms you and sweeps you off your feet, and constantly breaks your heart, and acts like you're the bad guy for finally walking away.
she's the friend who wants to share all your deepest secrets and dreams, then throws your insecurities in your face at the first sign of conflict and cuts you off completely when you dare to stand up for yourself.
she's the person closest to you that praises and relies on your loyalty time and time again, yet always lets you down when the roles are reversed.
she's the hero of her own story, and it sucks because she's not entirely wrong: she makes big waves and changes the world and excels at everything she sets her mind to—except for consequences, and apologizing, and making amends, and admitting when she's wrong.
she's flawed and selfish and committed to her own ambition at the cost of her relationships.
she's not evil, but it would be easier if she was.
If only there was a podcast dedicated to complicated women
Since op's alt text's not an okay one, here's a better version.
[ID: a text image. The Bold text on top reads: "hey you! Yes you! Take this shit out of links!" Followed by cropped images of two links, with red lines circled around the last parts of the links, after the question marks. The text under the images reads:
"These are source identifiers.
Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the URL or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity. When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connectd. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers.
Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the question mark symbol can be removed, especially sections starting with "?si=" or "utm_source=". /END ID]

girl wearing a huuuuuge mechsuit exoskeleton: it has pockets!! :D
they’re so fun to draw :DD
^ is a zionist
It should 100% be illegal for companies to make you give them your payment information when you sign up for a free trial version of their product. It is not necessary and there is no good fucking reason for them to do it. It’s blatantly just so they can steal forgetful customers’ money.
Reblog to save an unnecessary charge cause it also reminded me to cancel a trial lol
It…technically is illegal, by a very bare technicality.
Can persons that engage in negative option marketing practices violate the prohibition on unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices in
The problem is that service providers (Netflix, Hulu, anyone with a free trial) provide disclaimers on their websites that technically get around it by pointing to “we provided informed consent”. IE – We told them we would charge them (by collecting their payment information).
If you want to fight back against this practice, this “negative option marketing practice”, the best thing you can do? File a complaint with the CFPB &/or the FTC. Both regulate marketing and financial practices.
If enough people complain and raise a fuss and point out how disadvantageous this is to the consumer, it’s very likely that this can change. The CFPB is making a lot of moves lately to do what they can to protect consumers. Give them a reason to go after subscriptions. They probably want one.

the rat grinders getting whomped because they don't know how actual combat works is exactly what I've been waiting for all season. fabian taking down ivy in one turn bc they have no hp, them grouping up bc they don't know they're not supposed to and getting immediately shit on by adaine, riz's attack of opportunity doing more damage to kipperlilly than her actual attack did to him, gorgug taking down oisin by the end of round 1 bc they didn't protect their wizard, kristen and k2 both bringing all their friends up while keeping themselves strategically hidden bc they know better, riz diving into the lava like it's nothing bc he's a badass, adaine slapping jace's counterspell out of the air, fig tanking that hit from porter and casting that clutch fireball. just. beautiful. iconic. poetic. exactly what the rat grinders deserve after xp grinding for three years instead of actually adventuring. you fucking suck at this game kipperlilly!! you might be high level but you're shit at pvp!!!!!
