well today she told me that after giving birth to me, her first child, she wasn't fully prepared for the aftermath. specifically the lochia. she knew she would bleed after birth but she didn't think it would be as heavy. she didn't have enough pads so a nurse told her to get her mother or sister to drop her down some. and she of course didn't have either of them. so she basically sighed and told my dad she was so, so sorry but he needed to buy her some heavy pads. later on she gets a visit not from him but his two older sisters armed with tons of pads because he refused to go into a shop and buy them for her because it was "too embarrassing" and he complained to them about it

she recounted this to me as a 'funny' example of why men are hopeless when it comes to periods

if she has autism too, we have very different manifestations of it bc she's always been very naturally flat in affect and aloof, which frustrated me to no end as a very emotional child lol. she would always have a logical answer to everything. i also remember when i was small i'd just call her out unfiltered for being weird 💀 and she'd be like "i don't care" and i'd be like "but why ma, how on earth can you not care" and she'd be like "it doesn't matter i do what i want why would i give a FUCK" and not realise that this was also a bid for some guidance or reassurance on my part
