Do you recognize him? This is smiley, Joris. Finally finished! I will spray primmer on him and he will be absolutely ready. It has been a year and a half, since I have started to sculpt him.

He is msd sized. 12mm Pabol eyes. Sculpted using air drying clay.

He is almost finished. I need to just spray primmer on him. After this, I can search for a caster to cast him in resin.

So after a month or so of silence from me I can finally show some results. I had to resculpt almost everything, but results left me more that content.

Some phone photos from last night. I have corrected the shape of the eyes, and now they are symmetrical. I reshaped the nose too.

I have started this smiley fella this year. He is supposed to be a slim MSD sized boy.

I did not think of a name for him yet. And a lot of work still needs to be done. Eyes are not symmetrical, I need to redo the nose and the mouth. But the expression of the face is the one I wanted

Anyway, sculpting is going well. I used a new clay, Mungyo Sculpt Dry. I like it a lot more, than Jovi, Darwi Roc, or any other clay I had used before. It dries faster, sticks perfectly to dried parts, and most importantly, it is easy to cut and sand.

I am not dead. 😜

I wanted to post about him a long time ago. I have started to sculpt him in 2015 spring. He is my long running project. 2016 year was not very productive for me. I have barely sculpted anything.But this year i plan to finally finish him.

He is made of darwi Roc, an air drying clay. He takes 12mm eyes and is a SD+ head.

WIP. Sculpting body. Process pictures.

Well, at least it stands on its own. Right now I have cut it into pieces to make joints. After the joints will be made, I will add final details, resculpt feet, and hands, make it symmetric.
