You're a miserable person and I hope you never get to see Samira again.

I have no issue with Dr Robby being the main character, I have no issue with him being flawed, and I have no issue with him having a “bad day”. I have an issue with the writers, actors and producers defending his behavior and excusing it via his mental health. I have an issue with the fact his subordinates have to apologize to him continually while he does not have to. And then for the actors to defend Robby in interviews. I have an issue with the fact they continue to frame Robby as a flawed yet well intentioned man when he had bare shown any good intentions to his staff all season. When I am a complicated show with complicated dynamics, I expect the show to challenge them, and I expect the cast and crew to challenge them as well.

Despite the fact that Succession is filled to the brim with complicated characters who are ultimately Bad People (see: Billionaires!) and their respective actors do sympathize with their characters (which is fine imo as an actor), never did they “defend” the bad behavior exhibited. They explained how they felt it rang for the character and explained that. The show itself does not give it to them easy and they are constantly facing the consequences of their own actions.

Stop telling me I don’t know how to watch dramas, or I should go watch Greys Anatomy. When I watch an HBO show that is vying for Emmy’s, I expect these characters to face backlash on screen and to be challenged by the fandom and crew. That is the difference between a Good Drama Show and a Bad Drama Show.
