My thoughts and ramblings on the odyssey.

I believe it was a great movie. But it fails to be a good adaptation of the odyssey. I genuinely feel the movie fundamentally fails to understand who odysseus is as a character. His cleverness, deception and lies - what I believe are they key traits of Odysseus fail to come across on the screen.

I also feel Odysseus’s yearning to get back home did not across as much as it should’ve.

I want to be a little afraid of Odysseus! Sweet Matt Damon was never gonna pull it off.

Nolan takes his protagonists way too seriously. Which cauterizes their range as humans.
