Me 1 day later: I need to be left alone to gather the pieces of Me together

Upon hearing his joy, their tail starts wagging as they pull on his sleeve, asking him to join in.

How could he say no to his mate? Especially when they’re beaming at him like he could make their dreams come true.

“All right, come on Darlin’. Out we go.”

Sam opened the back door, letting the beast free. Darlin’ didn’t waste any time to zoom out, practically teleporting outside in a blur.

But they stopped just before the edge of the backyard and the forest, looking back and giving Sam a little huff, stomping their paw on the ground as if to say “hurry!”.

Sam smiled, taking a moment to appreciate his mate and their adorable wolf form.

Darlin’ stomped the ground again, clearly growing impatient.

“I’m right behind ya, Darlin’.”

At his cue, they set off, running as fast as the wind. Every moment or so they’d look back to see if their mate was there.

And sure enough, Sam was running right behind them.

He never left.
