I see so many people feeling like a changing system means you should doubt yourself. But I disagree! Systems change all the time for very many reasons

If you split a new alter, that's okay, they're there to help. Let them help you and approach them with care. If you split 5 alters, great, then you should try to get to know them!

It's okay if your role is changing. People change, and that means alters do too! You develop as people and learn to handle new things.
