Read tags !! It's pretty dark, and I've had a few DMs from people who were unpleasantly surprised. This might be my first- and ONLY- fic/series to be finished! I've written 20k words in the span of a month, sooo...

SOMERSET...

Had a fond crush on David since they slept on the couch together.

...It was the first night in years where he slept without a metronome ticking in the background.

Found Mills arrogant and slightly naive when they first met.

After David got sent away {wherever you HC him to go post-canon}, he thought about him almost every night, hoping he was alright.

After destroying his metronome, he found it a little hard to sleep unless he was holding a pillow which he sometimes would pretend to be Mills

William shed a few tears after seeing David get driven away in the police car at the end of the film.

He found work without David to be quiet, and almost...empty?

He knew his feelings toward David were wrong, but this guilt increased tenfold post-canon. It was wrong to take advantage of him after everything, and he resolved to not tell him.

Somerset doesn't necessarily have internalized biphobia, but he certainly wishes that David was a girl- he would've loved him either way it would have been so much easier if he was a girl.

DAVID...

Admired Somerset ever since he realized just how good he was at the case.

Was slightly nervous realizing he was going to retire- the gnarly nature of the case, combined with it being in a new city, made him slightly wish they could be a pair and solve crimes for longer.

Found Somerset pretentious and boring when they first met.

Didn't begin feeling any kind of romantic attraction until he was getting visited by Somerset in {wherever you HC him to go post canon}

Suffers terribly from internalized homophobia. He genuinely cannot stand the fact he's attracted to a man and denies it internally at any given chance. It makes him a little sick.

He struggles a LOT with internalized biphobia. He can't comprehend the concept of being attracted to both genders, and he feels like he's betraying Tracy by liking Somerset.

David definitely has asked to borrow a cigarette from Somerset/take a hit to taste him to cool his nerves, and ignores how intimate this is.
