This show has so much to say about queer experience even beyond it being just about gay people. As a trans person I relate so fucking hard to the scenes of louis coming home after transformation, people noticing the slight changes in how he looks, everyone slowly realizing that something has changed even if they don't know what yet, and later the changes in behaviour as it all becomes clearer to them, his visits getting rarer and rarer. it reminds me so much of my last visit home for my sister's birthday. Family i haven't seen for a while barely recognizing me and talking about how weirdly smooth my skin got or joking i got fat to tastefully acknowledge my breast growth without actually saying it, a cousin who probably suspects something giving me weird looks, the atmosphere that this is the last time i am ever gonna be a part of this community cuz i already sent the documents to change my name and am just waiting for them to get approved and to got kicked out of this family once and for all. this shows captured this and many other feelings so fucking well.

you deserve a better life as in never let the bad thoughts tell you otherwise. you deserve a better life as in that’s not easy to acquire, but if it is ever a possibility, don’t deny yourself it. you deserve a better life as in you deserve good things.

it doesn't matter which country we're talking about here, if someone from any country in the world says "oh where i am from there is simply no racism", you not only shouldn't believe them, but you should actually never take them seriously about anything ever again.

this one kinda hurts when i see it every pride month. im glad to see an art piece of mine still circulating, and with nearly 100,000 notes too! it just hurts that im separated from it. everyone in the notes thinks im gone. im still here, but my potential community and connection is lost because im forgotten in place of the art. yeah, my deactivated profile does add to the profoundness of what i was saying, but i am still removed.
