Oh my gosh Mer the timing of me and you rewatching Cars !!! I just watched it again about a week ago for the first time in many many years—and I was a bit stunned at how good it was?? It’s such a solid, emotional movie with fantastic characters + character development and great music and a storyline that’s so captivating. and it’s sentient cars.

omg yes timing!! gosh i LOVE cars. i’ve loved it for 20 years but in the last 3 years or so i’ve become a bit obsessed. like is the concept of sentient cars a bit weird? yes. it raises so many questions. but if you put all that aside and just accept it for what it is. gosh that is some good character development for a protagonist. it’s a love letter to racing and to american driving history. it has so many jokes that went right over my head as a kid that now have me cracking up. the way lightning and doc’s relationship develops as they help to break down each other’s walls. they got sheryl crow, rascal flatts, AND james taylor to perform songs for this movie.
